Happy Hump day! I got much better sleep last night and feel almost human, except that I seem to have sprained my butt muscles. Brother in Law had cataract surgery yesterday, and I offered to let my sister take my car for parking ease and for in an out ease. Which meant that I needed to clean it out. Which seems to have annoyed my butt muscles. Oh well. My sister has a wee Toyota Yaris, but since you're not supposed to lean forward after cataract surgery, and that's hard to get out of, I figured I'd offer. Plus, I'm working, so it's not like I need it for anything.
Yesterday I had my Quality meeting. I'm not awesome at quality. It's a lot of things like 'saying the patient's name 3 times, and verifying insurance and doing a second wrap up at the end of the call. And finishing with "thank you for calling/choosing Johns Hopkins." Fortunately, my dept isn't too fussed about it. They don't necessarily see the value in saying a name repeatedly. Still, I'll try to do better.
At some point, I'll have my one on one for the month, unless my boss decides that I'm good for another month. Last month, she messaged me and was like "You're doing awesome, no notes."
Aside from the Quality meeting, yesterday was pretty good, though very busy. Everyone's getting their appointments scheduled for the month. They all waited until after the holiday and then are slamming us. I took no calls during the hour of 12pm, because of lunch and meeting, and I still hit 61 calls. For reference, they'd like us to average between 35-40, so having me is like having a person and a half on the phones.
And despite my quality scores, the patients love me. They tell the people at the Radiology Office how the person who scheduled them was so nice. One told me I was perfection, which was nice to hear. I've had maybe two patients in 5 months that I found really hard to work with. I mean, I got through the call okay, but afterwards, I was like "what an asshole." Mostly though, people are sweet and grateful when you try to do something for them.
Okay, time for me to get my ass in gear. Gotta get Dad up and get dressed. Everyone have a super Wednesday!
