Jul. 2nd, 2024

We survived Monday! It wasn't that bad, actually a pretty good day. My shoulder was (and still is) hurting like a son of a bitch, but work wasn't too busy, and patients were overall nice, and I got to my psych appt in plenty of time.

My psych appointment was in person, so I could get my long-awaited ADHD testing. After filling out some paperwork, we agreed that I was more ADD than ADHD, but he agreed to give meds a shot. So, I have a prescription for Vyvanse. I'll be interested to see how it goes, though I will probably wait until Saturday to take the first dose, just so I know how it's going to affect me.

I don't know if I mentioned that I got the okay to do OT at work. So I am working the next two Saturdays for 4 hours each. I had to finish out probation before I was allowed to work it, so I'm a little excited. It's not like we would do anything before noon for the most part, and that extra $300ish on the paycheck sounds amazing. I was kind of given the impression that they don't always allow newbies to do it, but I'm "special."

I'm not quite sure why they have latched onto me so hard--I mean, I know I'm good at my job, but still. I should ask some of the other newbies if they're getting the same feeling.

It's lovely, but I'm not used to it. My former manager at IKEA was nice, and supportive, but he was hamstrung with his ability to act by the company, whereas I regularly speak with the head of the dept and the second in command, in addition to my manager, so if I ask a question, I get an answer from someone who can make a decision.

It's nice.

Okay, time for me to get myself together for work. Everyone have a wonderful Tuesday!!
