Not having AC blows, let me just say that up front. I hate it. We're managing with a cornucopia of fans. We have to pick up some swamp coolers from Lowes today, and we'll see how those work. All in all though, we're managing, but not happy about it. I'm super worried about Dad and the dog, but there's nothing we can do about it. We've got two fans on dad, and have been dousing the dog with water every few hours.
It's supposed to go up to around 84 today, which is 2 degrees cooler than our house was yesterday, so I have hopes that maybe it won't get so blisteringly not in here. At the moment, it's 74, so we've got all the windows open, hoping to cool it down some.
At 10:30, I have an appointment with Enterprise car sales. They think they have something for me, so I'm going to check it out. If this fails, I'm just going to go with Carvana. I know they're not the most awesome company, but they've got pretty good prices. The car is a 2020 Kia Soul S, with 60k miles on it. It's a really nice car, and I would be 100% happy with it. It would have more bells and whistles than I've ever thought of having in a car.
I'm just tired of being worried that my car is going to have a major issue. I can totally get an extended warranty on this to cover it for another 40k miles, and the suspension won't be. broken. Honestly, if I had unlimited money, I'd probably still get a Soul, so it's all good.
I ordered a fan off amazon, so hopefully I'll be able to work tomorrow. If not, I'll just have to go into the office, though I really don't want to. I ended up cancelling my games for the weekend, because I just could not see me being able to concentrate at all. I might have been able to get through them, but I would not have been at my best, and it probably would have sucked. Plus, my fan doesn't come until tonight.
On Monday, the nice AC people come. That will be lovely. I'm sure it'll be til Monday night before it's at a reasonable temperature in here, but I'll take it.
The money from Dad's account has not yet come in. Which is a shame, because we were totally going to get a window unit AC, just to see if we could bring the temp down a bit. I would totally have been standing in front of it panting like a dog, because swamp boob is real. I feel bad for the Enterprise guy, since I'm going to roll up there stinky as hell. (I'm going to shower, but there's only so much one can do.)
Okay, I suppose I've babbled enough. Have a wonderful Saturday!
