Ugh, dreary Monday. Can I go back to bed? We're supposed to have rain all day, with storms midday. Storms are not my favorite thing in the world. I know I'm safe, but I still don't like them. Normally, I'd go downstairs and kind of hide, but that's not an option while I'm at work, so I will deal. With a little luck, they won't be too bad.
Yesterday was a fairly busy day with my coworker J out. He's a little bit less stringent on clearing things off his markets, so I had a LOT of cancellations to do, which took some time. Then, there were a few emails about STI, our long haul company, and those are my circus, so I did those as well. Towards the end of the day, I got a wee bit bored, but not horrible.
After work, I made the little puff pastry egg cups for dinner. They weren't quite as good as last time, but still pretty tasty. The eggs were a shade bigger, so the pastry took a little longer to cook, and so they eggs were hard cooked--the yolk was fully cooked. Last time, the eggs were just a touch smaller, so the pasty had room to cook up faster, and the yolks were a little runny still. Oh well, they still tasted pretty good.
Then I had a meeting to go over the posts needed for the CONfab social media, so that's all scheduled for the next two months. It looks like I'll be doing that concurrently with the new job, as the person who'd planned to stick it out til the end of the October con had to drop effective immediately. So, I'll be learning on the job, which should be challenging. As it stands right now, I'm not even sure I can make it to the October con, so this adds another layer of stress there. We'll see. If I can get someone to come in a couple of hours a day while we're away to help my sister with Dad, then it might be doable.
We'll see how it goes, I guess. I really want to go, and I feel like I should go, but I don't know that it's possible. I do have 10 days of backup care through care.com, or reimbursement if I go through someone else. The tricky part is going to be finding someone who could come in around 7:30pm to help get him ready for bed and pull him up in the bed a bit. I suppose they could use the Hoyer lift, but it would be a lot to do a few times a day.
Hopefully, we can work it out.
Today, it appears that I have the inbox. I'm technically the backup, but I just glanced at schedules and the primary is out today. Whoo. Oh well, it'll give me something to do at least.
