I actually managed to sleep in until 8 this morning, go team me! I was considering laying their longer, but then my overinflated sense of duty drove me up. The part of me that feels like I'm responsible for everything kept saying "But what if Dad wakes up early?" and once my brain gets like that, it's not worth fighting it.
We got his new bed and hoyer lift in what was basically a fucking three ring circus. The plan was get the lift, use it to put him in a wheelchair, then take the bed down and put the new one up. Problem was, they sent a full body sling for the lift, and we couldn't transfer from there to the wheelchair. So, he had to just hang there for 45 minutes while Jess and I yanked the old bed apart, and the dude who brought the new bed put it up. It was not good, and I felt so bad for him. Both Jess and I are very sore today from all the pulling and tugging trying to get him into the wheelchair before we realized it wasn't going to happen. Eventually everything was set up, and we were able to haul him over to the new bed and get him situated. He slept most of the rest of the day, not surprisingly. Woke up around dinner time to watch Young Sheldon and have dinner.
The rest of the day, I mostly sat and debated falling over. The hoyer was not the simple easy to use device that the videos made it seem. Still, we're getting a sit pad, so that we can actually try transferring him into the wheelchair, so we'll be trying it again.
We did end up renting Fast X, and watching that, which was a lot of fun. Just what you'd expect from a F&F movie, fun, stupid and totally ignoring the laws of physics. Jason Momoa was a delight, and easily my favorite villain in the series. He was just so over the top, and scenery chewing and having such a good time!
