So tired this morning! I do not want to be awake this early, yet I am. I've been very sore the last week. I don't know if it's weather or stress, or combination thereof, but it's been kicking my ass. I've had two regular migraines and I'm pretty sure that yesterday I had the return of my old friend vestibular migraine because I was dizzy as fuck. Add to that the standard sound and light sensitivity and it was loads of fun. Add to that, my back was just aching from midback to the base of my skull, and I was a less than happy kitty. I seem to still have a touch of it today. Still a little bit dizzy and I want to stuff a pillow in my sister's mouth when she talks. Will take some ibuprofen and hope I don't have to talk to anyone today.
I'm on the inbox today, so at least that'll be something to do since the reports don't normally come in until late. I doubt there will be anything exciting, but it'll be something to do.
I think PT is supposed to be coming to see Dad today, but I can't swear to that. They didn't call last night to tell us when, but OT didn't call either, so she might just show up. The PT is kind of a flake, so we'll see.
So that'll be one barky dog to deal with. Fortunately, I'll have some cheese to make him happy. He'll sit in my office with me while the PT does their thing. He doesn't like people in his house, and will bark his face off if he's left out. It does not make for a relaxing visit, thus he gets locked away.
Last night, we played part one of the "Secrets of the Drow" with the lovely
poisontaster as our DM. My wizard rolled for shit most of the night until hitting with a clutch spell to save the hostage. Tasha's Hideous Laughter isn't the most powerful spell, but when it works, it's a lifesaver. Basically we'd curb stomped the enemy party with a couple of well aimed spells. The grunts were lit up with faerie fire, giving anyone who hit them advantage, the rogue was critical hitting regularly and I was managing like 2-3 points of damage when I actually hit. The boss grabs one of the three hostages, and puts a sword to their throat, telling us to let them go. I'm up next. I looked at my spell list, and I have three possible spells. One is suggestion which would be my last second level spell. It compels the target to follow a simple command, then lets them go. Good, but once the command is done, it's over. She could just pick the sword back up, or hurt the hostage in another way. Charm Person, first level. She'd become friendly to me, and look favorably on anything I want her to do. Possible, but it makes killing them afterwards a little squicky. Last was Tasha's Hideous Laughter, which will knock you prone laughing uncontrollably. Same saving throw against sll options. I decided to go with Tasha, and she failed the save. Sword dropped, she started laughing and fell to the ground clutching her sides. Hostage was saved, and it allowed us a turn to clear out two more mooks. She threw off the spell at her next turn, but the damage was done, and she went down like a bitch a few people later. All in all, lots of fun and we were victorious and saved the hostages.
Okay, guess I need to consider getting myself together for work. Everyone have a lovely Monday!
