Ugh, Thursday. Gotta get myself together to go into the office, but first...coffee.
Yesterday was another busy day. The a workaround to the previous error has been found! It's fiddly and has a lot of steps, so I spent my morning learning how and making a powerpoint about it. Unfortunately, it was deemed so difficult that I got put on the project because other people can't be trusted. So, the morning was collaborating with my counterpart in Staten Island, and the afternoon was helping him work on the file. We keep getting more in to the tune of 70 at a time, so I'm thinking this is going to be a long running project.
The annoying thing is that we're dancing around this very complicated work around and there's a considerably easier way to to it, but for some unknown reason, they don't want us to do it that way. So, instead, I'm stuck doing this bullshit. It's annoying the shit out of me. I don't like being inefficient--I am all about the least effort to get the correct result, and this is like an extra 7 steps that could completely be avoided. And I'm going to be doing it all damned day. Ugh.
We were supposed to have one of the higher ups visiting yesterday, but no one seems to know how long the visit's for, so they may still be around today. Someone should tell my team, so they'll be on good behavior snd not playing solitaire while they're supposed to be working.
After I finish an annoying day at work, it's my day to go over and see dad. Sounds like they're actually working him hard, which is good. Hopefully, he'll continue to be able to do the work, and get home soon.
I ended up cancelling last night's game due to migraine which I hate doing, but I was so nauseous that I couldn't think straight. We rescheduled for next week, so at least it isn't very long.
Okay, time for me to get another cup of coffee and get myself dressed. I don't think the office would appreciate me in a ratty nightgown. Everyone have an excellent Thursday!
