The alarm was especially unwelcome today. I actually slept really well, after a few nights of being restless, so I of course feel like I was hit upside the head with a baseball bat. Just feel tired and stupid. A little coffee and maybe a shower will help that some. I don't have a ton of work to do, so that's good. I'll be bored as hell, but oh well.
Yesterday was fairly busy in the morning owing to yet another system error. We have a pile of orders that are either failed or backordered that we can't fix. Originally we thought we'd have a pile of cancelling and rebooking to do, but then the higher ups decided that since it would cost us money, they couldn't make the decision. From what I gather, the decision is on it's way up the chain of command, waiting for someone to be willing to make the call. In the meantime, more of the orders have come in, making this a pretty big project once we get a decision either way. If they decide to just cancel the orders, the bot may be able to do it, but otherwise, it's going to be a lot of manpower. Either way, I made a powerpoint on how to do the cancel/rebooks properly.
The afternoon slowed down a bit, since we were in limbo. I just had my usual stuff to do, which didn't take long. Today, I think J is out, so I'll be doing his markets as well as mine, so I'll have a few extra minutes of work.
I may have over scheduled myself this week. Starting tonight through Sunday, I have four games, two visits to see dad, and have to run up to Shrewsbury to get our Easter dinner. We don't actually celebrate Easter, but it's prime rib, and I wanted it. I will probably throw it early, since a lot of the stuff needs to bake. A few little breaks during game to switch out dishes, and by the time we finish, we'll have a tasty dinner.
Tomorrow, it's in the office we go, excitement. I'm really hoping that if I'm going to get an answer this week that it comes in today. I really dislike the idea of getting the news in the office around people. Especially if it's a no, I'm going to be hella pissed off.
Confabulation Con's virtual con is coming up April 29-30th! This year, they're doing one day of panels, and one day of activities. I wasn't going to do a panel this year, but someone had to drop out of their panel, so I offered to help and will be doing the RPF panel. In addition, on activity day, I'll be running a Monster of the Week game. It's a game I've run before, called "Too many Draculas," that was a lot of fun. So, if you've ever read my ramblings and thought "I'd like to play a TTRPG," here's your chance!
