Greetings from lovely Santee, SC which is as far as we made it yesterday. Most of the way it was absolutely pouring, making the drive doubly fun. We didn't get as far as I was hoping, but we're almost halfway there. Of course, it looks like it's going to be another rainy day for the rest of the ride, so that's kind of not great. We have about 8 hours to go, joy.
I cried yesterday leaving the resort. I've been planning this trip for literally a year, and now it's in the books.
I didn't post about it while we were in Disney, but dad and my sister got sick while we were away. RSV, which we know because Dad is in the hospital. He has viral pneumonia. While they were looking for the pneumonia, they found two small blood clots in his lung, probably a parting gift from Covid. He also has been having afib and irregular heart beat. Not what you want to hear while you're 14 hours away.
So, I'm coming back to that as well. No clue how long he'll be in the hospital. Because of the clots, he's also on oxygen, so there's a chance he'll be coming home on that, too.
It's a lot.
Okay, I'm going to put on shoes and go get some coffee and check out the breakfast spread from the Fairfield Marriott. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
