Ah, Friday has arrived! It's going to be a relaxing long weekend for me. It's Confabulation Con weekend, so I'll be mostly sitting and listening to panels while I get myself together for my panel Sunday morning. My co-mod had a work emergency, so I'll be on the panel all by myself. As a result, I'm kind of hurrying to get some notes down, since I won't have someone else to bounce things off of. I'm pretty sure I can talk about D&D for forty minutes, but I'll probably run through my notes a couple of times just to be sure.
Yesterday was agonizing. The day seemed to go SO slow. I was on the delivery updates, but they were pretty light, so I had a lot of time doing nothing. My coworker J was also out, so I didn't have anyone to really chat with, which sucked. Then! Then, the bulk of my team got into a discussion about conspiracy theories. They ranged from vaccines, to climate change to the motherfucking Titanic, and I feel profoundly stupider for having had to listen to it. Poor Jess had me emailing them constantly bitching the whole time. It was just not good. And of course, the one guy I have a strong dislike for was the one who was the voice of reason. Which was just annoying.
By the time I got out, I had such a headache, I couldn't even. I rescheduled my shots, flu for Sunday after the con, and Covid in 2 weeks time.
Then, I settled down and made some fairly tasty pork tenderloin. Trying to decide what I want to make today, but I'll see.
We discovered that for the time being, we can't put the heat on full time, because we were absolutely roasting with just the heat on. So, heat at night and in the morning, then as the sun comes up the AC comes on for a few hours. We also had to turn it back a touch, because turns out the furnace is surprisingly robust. (We'd had it installed a few years ago in the spring, and the gas was cut off in the fall, so the heat had never been used.) So, until it gets cold enough out, we'll be doing a little bit of a dance to keep the house comfy.
For now though, I'm going to take some pills and get some more coffee. Everyone have a fantabulous Friday!
