And we're back to Thursday, and I am awake way earlier than I want to be to go into the office. So, there goes any productivity I might have had otherwise. I wonder if they realize how little gets done on our office days, assuming that people actually bother to come in, which they don't. We go from having maybe 1 or 2 people off to having 5-7. It's just embarrassing.
I had my work for the day done by 10, so the rest of the day was a struggle not to help out too much in the inbox. I ended up helping, which was not necessarily the brightest idea, since it now looks like the person who was primary actually did something, which she did not. She sat on the same three emails for hours at a time. Then, I got a message around 1pm from another coworker, asking how to get to and do the Working Reports...which she was supposed to be doing since 9am when she arrived. I gave her a refresher course on how to do them, and sent her on her way, but it was frustrating to see that there was 79 in there, where normally there's under 30, if they're being worked correctly.
I'm supposed to have my 1x1 meeting soon, so I am just writing all of this down, so that I can bring it up with my manager. I like her personally, but the jury is out on whether she can be an effective manager. We have a team meeting today, so we'll see what she has to say.
I spent a chunk of the day obsessing over why my interview was with a different person and was in person when M has her as virtual. It just seemed strange. Then, later in the day another coworker got a third interview for a different position with the same person I'm scheduled with, so I felt a little better.
The interview has me a little bit nervous. I've never had a third interview before and I want to make a good impression. We have a history of hiring from outside for stuff like this. And to be honest, I'm not sure that they won't do that this time too. This may just be something for appearances. Or, maybe they're actually trying to change and promote from within. I honestly don't know. I'm just going to do my best and let the rest fall where it may.
Last night we played Monster of the Week which was a lot of fun. I play Kitty, who recently ran from a cult. She was the chosen of her cult due to her connection with the eldritch horror that they worshipped. She has some powers and a little voice in her head, whispering for her to do nasty things. She is paranoid and prone to violence and impulsive behavior. I can already tell that she's going to be a lot of fun to play. Last night was mostly learning about each other's characters and a little bit of set up, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Time for more coffee, and maybe some pants. I really do not enjoy having to dress to be around other people. People are annoying and chatty. I wonder how much work actually gets done on office days amid all the talking.
