Going to be less emo today, I promise. Once in a while the pressure just gets to be a lot and I need to vent. Of course, right before bed, Dad was complaining about his knee hurting and muttering "Oh God" a lot, so that didn't do wonders for me, nor did the fact that the cat puked twice. My anxiety immediately jumped to worrying about that.
Yesterday was mostly boring. Only a couple of my markets bothered to send, so I didn't have nearly as much to do as I expected. Today I have the inbox, and it was at 30 emails when I left, so I have a feeling it's going to be severely overrun by the time I get in this morning. So, I'll have something to do, annoying though it may be.
Of course, since I had nothing to do, I ended up going on the Purchasing Power site, which is a site that lets you buy big ticket items and they take the money out of your check every two weeks. My computer is okay, but it bothers me that it has a few issues. The microphone and camera don't really work, and haven't for a long time. Being a chromebook, it has some limitations, which I didn't think we're going to be a problem, but they kind of are. Sooooo, all that is to say that I bought a new MacBook Air. As per my usual, I felt horribly guilty about it, but
coyotegestalt talked some sense into me, pointing out that with how much of my mental health depends on online activities, it's probably a wise investment. Jess is going to take over this computer, since their chromebook is old, and will stop updating in September because of it.
It's already shipped, so I'm hoping to have it in a few days. I'm sure it'll take a little while to get used to being back in the Mac OS world. I've watched a few YouTube videos, so hopefully, it won't take too much acclimatization.
Tomorrow it's off to the office, which is, as always, annoying. I really dislike wearing a mask for 8 hours, especially since it's totally unnecessary. There is absolutely no reason we need to be in the office, except that the powers that be want to justify the real estate that they own. They could very easily sell the one building and keep the other for meetings and people who don't want to work from home. Oh well. It's not like anyone asked me about it. I'm a little worried about what we're going to do now that the CDC has shit the bed, but again, no one is going to ask me about it.
Okay, time for me to go forth and get myself ready for what'll probably be a busy day. Everyone have a great Wednesday. You've made it to the halfway point!
