My cat insisted on me getting up to feed her much earlier than I would have liked today. I was all snuggled in, and dozing, and she started coming in every five minutes to jump on me and announce her presence. When that didn't work, she came over and started trying to claw the covers off me, still while chirping at me. I finally gave up and dragged myself out of bed to feed her. Now I'm a cup off coffee in, and still a little woofled. I love my Boodle girl, but some days she's as big a little fuckface as the dog.

We had a fraught day yesterday. The last two days, dad has apparently been hurting a lot. Jess looked on weather.com, and apparently it was a bad arthritis day, but he's been very vocal on the "oh god" front. It's freaking me out. Sometimes, it can just mean that he's sore, but it also can be the first sign of something that'll end up in an ambulance ride. He's notoriously bad about telling us when something is wrong as well. He seems to be okay at the moment, but it has both Jess and I on edge.

Okay, it's now half an hour later, and everyone has gotten up and now I'm overstimulated. My sister is doing her morning "show T&Jess everything on her twitter feed and I kind of want to claw my skin off. Dad seems fine this morning, though reports he is having acid reflux and is still a little achy.

But last night, we had game and it was good. We played Rime of the Frostmaiden. When last we left our intrepid adventurers, they had just defeated the evil wizard Dzaan, turning him into a harmless snail for transport. The plan was to take him to the great prison on the lake, Revel's End quickly, as the spell keeping him a snail only lasts for an hour. Some diplomacy was done! The prison agreed to hear the case! Despite some doubts, the councilors decided to keep him at the prison for the time being. Dzaan is well connected, so there's a chance he can diplomatically be freed, but for the moment he's held.

The party went back to Easthaven for some well deserved rest, and were immediately hit by a backstory attack. One of the party members who's been traveling under her stage name was accosted by her father's man of business who entreated her to come home and take over the family business. She refused, but he persisted. Eventually, the party wizard cast a Geas on the man to tell him to go away and leave their bard alone. Failing his saving throw, he was forced to leave or take a massive amount of damage. Later as the party slept, bandits broke into the room, prepared to snatch the bard, but were laughably overmatched.

The next day, they went out to the house of another evil necromancer and found some ghouls. The cleric brandished their holy symbol and turned them and the party quickly finished them off as they fled. Seeing as the necromancer was a former boyfriend, the cleric had mixed feelings about this.

Next up, as the party went to start out on a bodyguarding mission for a diplomatic envoy, they were stopped by the town Sheriff, who wanted to let them know that the prisoner they'd brought in way back near the beginning of the campaign had escaped! The paladin, who had a serious dislike for the prisoner due to some mounted Drow elf heads on the prisoner's wall was not happy.

They began their journey, only to be interrupted by some Frost Giant Skeletons and Coldlight Walkers. The party took some damage, but emerged triumphant, without a scratch to the diplomats they were accompanying! We closed there, with the goblin fortress ahead.

Today, we shall finish up our "one shot," Graveyard Shift! All the games!
