Ugh. Why is the alarm so early? I seriously considered sleeping a little longer. Actually did relax for a little while, but then my brain started eating itself, so I dragged myself upright. The cat was very pleased to see me, and demanded immediate food, so it's probably a good thing I got up. The poor baby would have surely starved in another 20 minutes! Now, he's sitting behind me on the sofa purring loudly.

Yesterday was busier than I expected. First we went to Walmart to pick up the grocery order, then I decided I really wanted cocktail meatballs for dinner, so we drove over to IKEA, which was it's normal level of crazy busy. We managed to find semi-close parking and I went a little bit bonkers in the Swedish Food Market. We got meatballs, cookies, pear cider, and some of the good Marabou chocolate with the bits of toffee in it.

It was good to get out of the house, since Yoda continues to be a fussy bitch. I know his butt is uncomfortable, but I needed to get away from his dramatically shifting into different positions and wuffling softly when no one was paying immediate attention to him.

Then, we threw the meatballs in. (Grape jelly and Chili Sauce) in the slow cooker for 3 hours, and soon thereafter, went to play Monster of the Week.

While we were driving to IKEA, Jess mentioned that they were surprised that I hadn't set a mystery in an amusement park yet, and somehow we ended up on Hershey Chocolate World.

Immediately, an idea popped into my head fully formed, and when we got home, I wrote it down. I actually had a plot set up for today, but it got scrapped for the new one. I'll definitely run the other one at some point, too, so it's not like it won't get used.

This week, our hunters were summoned to Horsham's Chocolate World, where people have been disappearing off the factory ride. Three people have gone missing so far, and the manager has called in the hunters to find out what's behind it. The manager has no clue about the supernatural, and thinks the hunters are merely private investigators.

They take the factory ride through the humble origins of Horshams, into how they make chocolate, into the many products they make. Cheery animatronics of Horsham Bars, Rouses Peanut Butter Cups, Smooches chocolate drops, Happy Cattleman hard candies and Twisty licorice as well as the two milk giving cows see you on your way through the tour. Once the ride is closed, it's just them and Larry the night security guard. The sorcerer determines that there is magic in the ride that feels cold. As they investigate, a noose drops out of nowhere and tries to strangle the sorcerer! He nimbly dodges, and they rush up onto the catwalk to find nothing but a sticky residue on the handrail. The divine immediately tastes it, and finds that it's sweet, and tastes like strawberries. The expert does a tarot reading that tells her that it's some sort of candy monster.

They search further, and find a portal hiding in one of the camera blind spots. They go through and find themselves in a winter wonderland! Drag marks in the snow lead to a quaint village that is closed up for the night to a large barn. Sneaking inside they find three fey guards clustered around a stall that holds five humans, ranging in age from 7 to 30. Three are the missing people.

The divine makes a distraction and they move kill the one remaining guard and take off with the people. A short fight later, they make it to the portal, and back into Chocolate world. They take the missing people to Larry who is now missing. Setting up the former prisoners into a safe room, they search for Larry who is being held by the Twisty licorice animatronic.

The hunters manage to free Larry who takes off. This starts a fight with Twisty who has a stinging licorice whip. As they are about to triumph over Twisty, the two cows show up and turn the fight! During the fight, there are some truly shit rolls, and the expert and the flake are badly injured. The sorcerer heals them, and the battle rages on, joined by the Happy Cattleman hard candies, who fire little hard candy projectiles at the crew.

They finally take down the creatures, and go looking for the remaining animatronics, finding them at the loading dock with a strange woman who's chanting in a foreign language. The sorcerer mutes her, and the remaining animatronics charge!

The sorcerer tries to pull the opposing spellcaster's wand, and gets blasted across the room! The Rouses cup shoots exploding peanut butter cups at the divine! ("It's shooting me with exploding babies?") They manage to disable the remaining animatronics and the spellcaster gives up.

They uncover the plot, that the Shaunessy crime family has aligned themselves with the Winter Court. The Shaunessys have a stake in Chocolate World, and want to change the free ride into a paying attraction. In return for the power to do this, they give the Winter Court human servants.

They summon the Wizards council to deal with the spellcaster, and get out of Dodge before the cops show up, having left the ride they were supposed to save in total shambles, but having saved more people from the Winter Court of Faerie! Downside, now the Shaunessys and the Winter Queen have more reason to dislike them (which to be fair, they already did.)

Next up, tonight is the Witchlight game!

Okay, time to get to work. Everyone have a good Sunday!
