Nothing like waking up two hours before you need to. I stayed in bed for an hour before I finally just couldn't take it any longer and got up at my normal time. I'm off work today, so I could have slept an extra hour.
I've gotta take Dad to the podiatrist today. She's a little judgy, so I rarely look forward to it. I always end up feeling like I'm doing a bad job of taking care of Dad by the end. Plus there's the production number of getting Dad out in the first place. Always a fun thing.
I was supposed to have a flu shot this afternoon, but I got an email from CVS cancelling my appointment. I rescheduled for 12/30, which is not ideal, but I'll have to live with it.
Yesterday, I ended up stuck in the office all day while I waited for them to get me a computer that would work for me. I'm cautiously optimistic about the one they finally got for me. It actually recognized the wifi network, and has all the apps I need. Now I just need to finish customizing it today, and change the wire from my second monitor to fit the port. (They actually gave me a cord this time!) I wasn't going to deal with that last night, I figured I'd do it today in the daylight when I can see what I'm doing.
We'd roasted a chicken on Tuesday, but it took longer than expected, so we ended up getting grubhub. Last night we had the chicken and it was pretty good. I was having Covid-related "this tastes bad" issues, but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. Ina Garten totally lied to me about how long it would take to roast, though. It took a good 35 minutes longer than she said to get it up to the right internal temperature.
Today, I believe I shall bake cupcakes with spice cake mix. We have some whipped cream cheese frosting, which I think will go well. Maybe also some more blueberry muffins, as dad is almost out, and they're his favorite.
Maybe also we will find time to watch something. We've got a bunch of Hawkeye episodes, plus a GBBO Holidays episode. If not there'll be time tomorrow.
We've decided to celebrate my birthday on Saturday, as we have D&D tomorrow night. I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday evening, though. Though we may still have Chinese food tomorrow. We'll have to see. I don't feel like cooking on my birthday.
Okay, I guess I'll get myself together and have more coffee. Everyone have a wonderful Thursday!
