Ugh. Mornings. I woke up with a splitting headache, probably because of the rapidly changing weather. It's been in the 40's and 50's this week and today it's supposed to get into the 70's. It is not doing wonders for me.

Yesterday was boring as fuck. I did absolutely nothing for most of the day. My West Coast markets finally came in about half an hour before my meeting, so I was able to get that done. Chicago, on the other hand didn't come in until after I left (assuming it did).

The meeting was okay. It was about traditions, both food-related and family traditions. I shared the recipe for the chicken goat cheese skillet. The second question was about a memory that a friend would share of you. So I told about going to the first Wincon in Nashvile and getting tattoos. It was a good day. Smut panels during the morning/early afternoon, then off to the only tattoo place that had openings, which turned out to be a Christian tattoo shop. They wouldn't tattoo horns on dragons type of Christian, because that would make them too demonic. The only one available was an apprentice named Colby, who was very cool and very good. Jess got an hourglass and I got a dragon silhouette (with horns, thank you). Afterwards, we went across the street to an Italian restaurant that had amazing food and carbed out. Then, it was back to the hotel for room parties. It was a good night.

With Thanksgiving approaching, I've been thinking about Mom lately. Her birthday and the day she died kind of bookend the holiday. I haven't been thinking about her in a bad way. Just thinking about the grace of that last Thanksgiving. It was our first year buying from Cracker Barrel, and everything worked out really well. It was one nice day before everything went to shit. She was dead that Saturday. It's just a weird time of year. In retrospect, things improved so much after she was gone, and I feel a little guilty that I don't miss her more than I do.

Okay, time to go get dressed and get ready for work, I suppose. Going to eat a little something and take some ibuprofen, and get myself together.
