For some reason, I've had Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah stuck in my brain. I have no idea why, but while I was cooking up the sausage for last night's dinner, I was singing along. Poor Jess probably thought I was insane. It is not their favorite song ever, to say the least. You could probably do a great thesis about it's use in fandom. I'll bet if you went and typed in "Love is not a victory march" in AO3, you'd have hundreds of hits. (Okay, I looked. It's 150, which is less than I expected.) As someone who tends to use song lyrics for subjects and titles, I totally empathize. It's a great line.
Today's the day for the vaccine! I'm very eager to get things going. Jess got their invite, and goes on Thursday morning, so by mid May, we'll all be fully covered. I'm not sure how much being fat actually plays into bad outcomes, vs doctor bias being the cause of bad outcomes for fat people. Still, I'm a big proponent of "if you're eligible, you get the damn shot, so we'll be going forth and getting the damn shot.
I'm hoping the fairgrounds aren't too busy, but I have a feeling it's going to be a madhouse. At least this time, I won't be pushing Dad, so this will be much easier. I won't turn down a decent parking spot, though.
Aside from that, not much going on. Work is work. I'm doing the delivery updates this week, so I've got two more days of that. Yesterday wasn't too many, so hopefully, that will continue. I can always ask for more minions if I need them. I'm debating the merits of taking off on Thursday. I may see how I feel tomorrow post shot. Since I'm the only one doing the updates, I can't really take off tomorrow, even if I feel shitty. We really need to get some people trained on them, because it isn't sustainable to have only three people who know the routine. We're training one other, but it'll be a few more times before he has a grip on it. It's a lot of information. And he's on the same schedule as me, Sunday-Thursday. We really need someone else on Tuesday-Saturday.
