Dec. 9th, 2020

Tis Wednesday, and I need a nap. Sam persists in coming down and announcing himself with a loud meow, and demanding love in the middle of the night. He also comes in around five and crawls under the covers to sleep against me, which you know I hate. (Okay, I love it, though it does make getting out of bed a challenge.) I'm yawning this morning, and debating laying down in my sister's bed for a few minutes. I probably won't, because I have trouble napping except when I'm not feeling well.

Instead, I will have more coffee.

I just put out the request for available dates on Discord for D&D. Once we get it scheduled, I'll be able to focus on the module I'm doing, and get familiarized with that. In the meantime, I've got to figure out a mystery for MotW, as that's on the 19th. I think I know what I'm going to do, with of course, rewrites to make things suit the games that I run.

My players have been really supportive about the characters everyone wants to run, and it's awesome. I love that they work together to make this a positive experience for everyone. I have dusty memories of the last time I played D&D, and it was not this good. Of course, I was playing with three guys, and they were massively misogynistic, not that I knew that word back then. I enjoyed the game aspect, but I did not enjoy "roll to avoid getting sexually assaulted" because that was just "realism."

The goal is for everyone to have fun, and forget about the world for awhile, and it's the DM's job to make that happen. I hope I've done that so far, and I hope to continue it in both games I'm running.
