We finished out the recipes we had for Indian week with a thoroughly delicious Paneer Tikka Masala. It killed off the tubes of minced ginger and garlic, and nearly finished the brand new bottle of garam masala spice I'd bought at the beginning of the week. Seeing as it was a success, I'd imagine some of these will be added to the rotation of recipes. Especially that Aloo Gobi. The rest was really excellent, but that stands as the best out of the bunch.
It also oddly was an all vegetarian week, as the only animal protein was the paneer cheese. Can't say I minded. I don't know that I could go all vegetarian, but it was really nice to have things that didn't taste oddly rancid thanks to the Covid. Beef is generally okay for me, but you can't have it every night. Next, we need to look into another ethnic cuisine to try!
Kitty came to visit last night, but was surprisingly well mannered. He only came up to demand pettings twice, and laid quietly by my legs the rest of the time. As a result, I got a mostly good night of sleep, and feel pretty well rested today. Still going to mainline my coffee, because I am me after all.
I'm working my way through the D&D player's handbook, and am happy to learn that the game hasn't changed that much since I played (20+years ago). It's updated, and a lot more streamlined, but the basic stuff is still the same. I've got 7 people so far who are interested on the Discord, so that'll be a pretty big party.
I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that this TTRPG Discord channel was the best thing to come out of Con.txt for me. With the pandemic, every day has a sameness to it. I love working from home, but that combined with not being able to go out on the weekends means that I can go weeks without seeing another person aside from the occasional Instacart employee. Knowing that I have a game planned is something I look forward to. I don't know everyone I game with that well, but I'd still call them friends. I love the stories we build together.
All of which is to say: I'm probably going to babble about both D&D and MotW a lot. Sorry! (not really.)
