And I've already gone to Costco and spent way more money than I should have. But I was feeling the need to stock up with the election on Tuesday. I don't really expect anything to happen, but I feel better for having done it. Sometimes, self care means buying meat in bulk.
We've decided to put a bowl of candy out for Halloween, but we're not going to be opening the door, or handing it out. I don't know how many trick or treaters we're going to actually get anyway. Hopefully, none, if their parents have any brain cells. But I get it, people are tired of the pandemic. I'm tired of my lungs not being back to normal, but we don't always get what we want.
I just put in a grubhub order with our local bakery. If their cheese danishes taste weird post Covid, I may actually cry. Peanut butter, sure. I miss the Reese's peanut butter cups, though. But Fenwick's cheese danish better taste normal.
Today, we shall watch the Great British Bake Off, and I shall debate whether to watch the Mandalorian episode by episode, or wait til it's all out so I can binge.
Tomorrow, I shall play Masks. We ended on a little of a cliffhanger a month ago (the last game got cancelled due to illness), so I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure my delinquent will muff up a few crucial rolls, as usual. He's just a squishy human, so he tries to end fights quickly, and a little nastily. Trying to cosh people on the head, grabbing ponytails to yank them backwards, where they'll hopefully crack their heads on the floor. Little things. I need to put more points in tough so he'll be a little better equipped to fight.
We went to vote last night, and had the unfortunate luck to be in front of two MAGA idiots. Their discussion ran the gamut of misogyny (they were offended that Biden picked a woman, because there were probably better male candidates, and they just cut them off) racism (he told the people at work that there's no such thing as white privilege and they couldn't refute it. No dude, they're figuring out how to word this to HR) and general unpleasantness. I had to tell the one to back up because he kept getting closer and closer and I was afraid of getting hit by his umbrella. He was not particularly nice about it, not surprising, and did everything but call me sweetheart. He did stay a little further back afterwards, but it was a bad scene. Afterwards, he came out while I was waiting for Jess and called me a sourpuss. I of course, told him to go fuck himself. He informed us that we had to be democrats, but didn't press it any further. It was very stressful, and not a good experience, but we got it done, and we went for Starbucks after. Hot cocoa and spiced hot cider for the win!
