The RNC was every bit the shitshow I expected, though I didn't have "take a wild shit on Leonard Cohen's corpse" on my bingo. Really? Hallelujah? Who's bright idea was it to use the song about a breakup for a campaign event? I like the song, even if it's overplayed, and I hope Cohen's estate sues the shit out of the Trump campaign.
I hate this timeline. I feel constantly anxious, torn between the dread that he's going to win and that tiny flame of hope that says maybe not? I can't watch the news, and I spend way too much time doomscrolling on twitter. Downside of meds that work? I'm able to feel all the emotions again, and some of them frankly suck.
Okay, shaking off the anxiety and moving forward with the day. It's my day off! And we're planning to actually do something tonight! Jess and I are going to our local drive-in theater, Bengies to go see Bill & Ted Face the Music. We're going out! I'm going to get popcorn and warm mini donuts, and we have to bring popcorn and cotton candy home for Shelly. They have a really wide variety of food on the snack bar, so we'll have to see what looks good at the time.
Tomorrow is our second game of Masks with the online TTRPG group, which I'm looking forward to. I had a lot of fun the first round, and I think it'll be even better the second time.
It's nice to have plans for a change. It almost feels like things are normal. They're not, but I can pretend for one weekend. I mean, the mask I'm going to be wearing to the snack bar will kinda impede that, but I'll manage.
