Happy whatever

Happy Saturday, I guess? Happy “you’re going to hate your neighbors by midnight” day? Happy COVID superspreader day?

I’m feeling better today. Seems like I got all my angst out, and that’s it for the moment. I’m sure I’ll find something else to fret over soon.

I just ordered a laptop! In a week (why so long!) I shall have a Google Pixelbook Go. I’ve been considering getting another laptop for a while. Right now, I’m using an IPad Mini that I won in a raffle at work almost 4 years ago. I love it, but it’s not easy to type on, and I’m hoping maybe eventually, I’ll open a googledoc for something other than writing down our sushi order. From what I can see, it’ll do everything I need it to, plus. I’m not that RAM intensive, so it should work out for me. Of course now I have to remember all my passwords so I can log everything in. I’m assuming that since it’s a Google product, all the passwords that Chrome remembers will be useful.

Work has been crazy, mostly due to Covid-19. It’s messed up our shipping systems, and we’ve got a bunch of orders that we just can’t fulfill. We had overtime two weeks ago (which is going to look nice on Friday’s check) and we’re probably going to have more in the coming weeks.

I’m going to use my extra cash to get a very needed massage. Oja’s Wellness, which is not to far from me, has an introductory 90 minute massage for $99. It includes a hot stone and aromatherapy add on, which sounds like heaven. I’m putting this out here because it’ll make me actually do the thing. I have trouble spending money on myself for self care. It seems frivolous in a way that I know is just my jerk-brain talking. If Jess wanted a massage, or anything else, I’d buy whatever before they finished talking. I just don’t do well with things I want. If I need it, that’s one thing. (Though, I will usually get the cheapest version of the thing.). But want? Well, I don’t need it. But, it’s been a long damn 4 months, and I am going to get a fricking massage. Hopefully, I don’t have to wear the mask while I’m facedown on the table. That just seems...uncomfortable.

It’s been so long since I actually went out and did something. I think it’ll feel weird.
