Ah, blessed Friday. It's been a week, y'all. If you follow Jess on DW, you know that her supervisor is up in her shit again, and being a total douchebag. Which, honestly, Jess never needs, but less so these days.
I'm slowly realizing how much the first half of the year impacted on our lives. I still mourn grandmom every day, but it's slowly getting better. The tricky part is giving ourselves a little extra slack in the meantime. I can forgive just about anything in other people, but I'm hard on myself.
So is Jess, for that matter. And it doesn't help that her supervisor (while undiagnosed for any mental illness) behaves in a way that reminds Jess of her bipolar mother's unmedicated behavior. Yeesh.
So, the day this all happened, after Jess was so upset, etc, I ended it by getting rear-ended by a large pickup on the way to get her. Well, technically, I got rear ended by the truck. She got rear ended by a Lexus, and despite the damage the truck did, I'm SO glad the truck was in between us. The lexus was just...fucked. I think if that car had hit me, without the buffer of the truck, I'd have been hurting. I'm still sore, but no major issues. Now, if the insurance company would get it together, we'd be in business.
*sigh*
Work's going okay still. It's generally a boring as fuck job, but it's easy, and it pays relatively well. Also, it's got good perks. (Lunch via pharmaceutical rep 2-3 days a week, and in a couple of weeks the office crab feast.)
