Whatcha all been up to?
I figured I'd tap out a quick note to give you the mini-update on life in the
beanside household.
Grandmom is still in the hospital, owing to the utter fucking stupidity/incompetence of her nurses, who took her off her blood pressure medicine without telling anyone. This led to her going into atrial fibrillation on Thursday night/having another minor heart attack--c'mon, she's 92, how minor can it be?--and getting sent back down to the heart floor. So, she'll be in there for a little while longer, looks like.
Jess has a stomach bug/migrane combo that's kicking her ass at the moment, which sucks mightly. I hate her not feeling well.
Aside from that, everything else is good. Work's busy, mostly with camp forms to be filled out--god, I hate this season.
We're almost done with Of Bastard Saints, which should finish up around 230ish pages. So much for my original estimation of 70 pages and done. I'm actually really proud of it. Especially since we started writing it only about 40 days ago, and yet I think parts of it might be some of the best writing we've done. We plotted it, kept it mostly in line, and plowed through it. Next up, probably a little smutty sidestep/prequel, then the sequel, which we're hammering out the plotline for now.
Aside from that, the shoulder's a bitch, but nothing new there. I'll deal.
