Um, just a discussion of h/c recs devolving into a fannish whine about how small Lost fandom is, further devolving into a bitchfest about how Supernatural stole all the fangirls because it's so much "simpler", the characters are simple and pretty, and nobody can understand the deep philosophical storytelling of their much superior show.

If by simpler you mean less convoluted: yep. I've been burned by J.J. Abrams before. Those looking for overarching coherency in his mytharcs will have to fanwank it there themselves. Plus the usual issue I have of, coming off of several small fandoms, no sympathy for people complaining about a lack of fic to read or fans to read their fic.
