So, I'll start with the last things, because the first'll have to mostly be cut-tagged for spoilery goodness.

Tis yet again time for that week of geeky goodness on the Discovery Channel! Shark Week has returned again, this time hosted by the Mythbusters crew. *squee*

Last night, we had two hours of the Mythbusters trying to debunk scenes from Jaws. It was fricking great. Of course, first off, let me just mention that I am a horrible shark geek. One of my greatest sadnesses in life is that due to my asthma, I can't learn to dive. (something about the pressure change, and the breathing control makes it like fifty times more risky for asthmatics to use scuba gear--we had a teacher not that long ago who died while in the Bahamas because of it.) So, any shark diving would have to be snorkeling. But there's always the thingie Adam was in. I think personal sub like things are okay, so there's still a chance, but I'm sure as fuck not going down with a great white in one of those, and that's kind of one of my big ambitions--to see a great white up close. Yes, I am insane, why do you ask?

(For anyone who missed it, they're showing it again on Discovery this Wednesday at 9.)

Friday, we avoided the batshitness of Barnes and Noble, and went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory instead.

I love going to later movies. Less squawking children, less stupid teens. I don't think I heard more than 1 or two brief whispers during the movie, which tells you al ot about how engrossing it is.

I loved the movie. It was insane, in that best possible way.

But then, there was the soundtrack...

A while back, I got out a wrestling DVD, because Shawn Michaels had his first match back with HHH. It wasn't a bad match, but nothing special. Until at one point, Shawn climbed the ropes. He looked at the crowd with that cocky smirk, and purred "Remember me?" I pretty much went to a puddle of goo, because yes, I did remember him.

Well, I had that experience again Friday night. The Oompa Loompa songs were written and sung by Danny Elfman. That alone is pretty cool. But Danny took this opportunity to whip out his dick, and remind us all that he does indeed pwn us. *grin* Seriously, the music was that good. Happy-dance in your seat good.

Then, on the way home, we stopped at Superfresh and picked up Harry Potter at around 12:05.

Saturday, I commenced to read it. All of it. Loved it! *squee*

OMG! They killed Dumbledore! Dude, I called that when Goblet of Fire came out. *grin*

And I'm still not convinced that Snape is evil. I think that Dumbledore knew he was dying from the curse on the ring. *nod* So, he and Snape had a deal that if it came down to it, Snape would kill him. But Book 7 will tell for sure, I guess. And the Draco redemptionistas are going to be insufferable now.

Aside from that, not much else to say.
