It's Saturday! And it's a 3 days weekend with lots of games! I'm very excited for it all.
We had Frostmaiden last night, which was super fun. They split the party and were dealing with fights on two seperate maps, which went surprisingly well for a game that's on the legacy system of Roll20 and not jumpgate.
Work was utterly insane. The emails just kept coming in, and I had hardly any time to catch my breath. It was a lot. Oh, and in the morning, there was a power outage at White Marsh, so they were locked out of the building, and then their internet was down. So I moved a few people around for them as well to give them a catch up point. I was tired by the time I was done for the day.
Today, we have Arvandor at noon. I need to do a little prep for that, since it occurred to me that I need to build a dragonrider and dragon boarding party as the episode starts with an aerial fight. I'm looking forward to that. It should be a fun, nailbiting session.
I've gotten Jess into looking at videos about our ship and Alaska in general. We're currently picking out places to go in towns. We'll probably do an excursion in most towns, but we'll have anywhere from 7-12 hours in each, so we'll have to see what else we want to do if anything.
I know I'd like to explore in Ketchikan. Maybe some stuff in Juneau. Skagway's pretty small, so I might not do a whole lot there.
I've been watching the packing videos, and I'm coming to the conclusion that these people are WAY more high maitenance than me. How many shoes do you fucking need? Walking shoes, check. One nice pair of shoes for formal night, check. Maybe sandals for the pool and spa? Yeah, that's about all I need. Maybe, maybe two walking shoes in case one gets drenched. I do not need five pairs of dress shoes, just in case. People are weird.
Also, in our suite, we get free laundry, and I plan to use that, so I'm definitely not going to be overpacking. I'm figuring like the Disney trip, we'll have one big, one medium suitcase for the two of us, plus carry ons.
I got a new carry on, especially for Jess' surgery, but it'll serve us well in general. It's an overnight bag, and it's the perfect size. I got it from Beis, which are expensive, but does have a gently used program, which knocked it down about 50%. I'm debating upgrading our suitcases. We have plain black Amazon basics, which are a real pain to see on the baggage carousel. I spent a lot of time going "Oh-no. Oh is that? No," on the Detroit trip.
Oh well, a few months to decide. And on that note, Everyone have an amazing Saturday!!
