It is a pretty morning, but they swear we're going to get some snow as it goes on. Shouldn't be much, but it'll be annoying.
Yesterday was a relatively busy day, even though we didn't do a ton. First up, I drove Jess to see Dad. He's a little discouraged at how little he can do. He's been in bed for the last six months, I think he's doing amazing. He can almost stand all the way up! They bring over the sit/stand frame, and he can lean forward and pull himself up. He can't quite stand up straight yet, but it's coming. Even the therapist says that he's come a long way in a week. He's still got five weeks of therapy left, I'm excited to see where he can get! We forgot to take up his new phone charger, so we promised to come back and bring him that in the evening, just in case the weather's bad.
Then, we went to my long-awaited hot pot. It took a little bit of vulturing for a parking spot, but in the end we got a good one, and only had to freeze for a few minutes while we walked to the restaurant. Our parking was complicated by a little group of people with a big wooden cross who appeared to be accosting passerbys to tell them to repent or whatever the fuck. Of course, this had to be on a day when we both looked maximum queer, so our normal little parking lot was out of the question, because neither of us were walking past that shit. Fortunately, our spot was on the other side of the street from them.
Once we got into the restaurant, I was good, and ate mushrooms, bean sprouts and so much meat in addition to my rice cakes and noodles. They had a spicy beef that was excellent. Always love the fatty beef and pork belly. And I got some shrimp this time, which were really tasty. I got a mushroom broth, which was very good, but Jess got their spicy butter broth, which was amazing. I will definitely consider that next time.
Then we came home to relax for a little while, and headed out to the H-Mart Asian Market. First off, the parking lot was a circle of hell. I know we went on a Saturday afternoon, but it didn't have to go that hard. We finally found a spot. (I feel like half my Saturday was spent circling for a decent parking spot.) We got so much good stuff. All sorts of fruits and snacks. We stopped at the rehab on our way home and dropped off Dad's charger, and went on our way.
Last night we finished listening to the new Fantasy High Episode, which I enjoyed. I'm looking forward to the Bad Kid's Junior Year.
Today, I swear that I am doing nothing but relaxing. (Yeah, right.)
I'll probably do some prep on various D&D games and try not too be too bored. I'm sure I'll find something.
Okay, going to go get more coffee now. Everyone have a lovely Sunday!
