beansideOkay, first week down! And I have the weekend to recover. Going into the office every day is much more physically challenging than I expected. Nothing striking, just overall achy and tired. It's getting less towards the end of the week, but Monday-Wednesday was a little tough.
We did a little Jeoopardy game for the first four chapters yesterday, and I feel a little bit better about the test. Still going to be studying my brains out this weekend, but I don't feel quite as clueless, since I'm obviously retaining shit. Test is Monday afternoon, so I need to be pretty well settled on the material.
Next week is a couple of days of class, but primarily observation. On Monday, it's normal class. We'll finish the book and then take the test. Tuesday, I'm on day shift observation. Wednesday is normal class, then Thursday is an evening shift observation, and Friday is a day shift. The downside of this is that on Friday, I'm going to be working on not too much sleep.
Thursday, I plan to stop on the way to work at the family butcher shop and pick up some meat for the coming week. It's going to be pricey, but it might be worth it. I can always go for some nice ribeye steaks. And maybe a good chuck roast.
Today, we do have to take the dog to the groomer, and then I'm going to stop at Staples and pick up a binder and some sheet protectors for my coming stuff. Maybe a nice trapper keeper? Or am I a little old for that?
Then, we'll probably grab lunch, and depending on where we end up going, I may stop at the bakery and get myself an almond croissant. Then, we'll pick up the dog, and I'll come back home to study.
Tommorrow, I have nothing going on. Just studying. My sister has to go to a baby shower, so the house will be mostly quiet and I will be in my office with the highlighter.
I got a new stained glass piece from a friend who sells them. It's a purple iridescent anglerfish. I love it. She had pictures of her work from a fair she was at, and I kind of loved it. I couldn't go to the fair, but it didn't sell, so she was happy to offload it.
I feel like I've gotten really boring over the last week. I'm 100% focused on class, and I don't have a whole lot of bandwith otherwise. I feel a little bad about it. I keep reminding myself that it's a set time. It's only going to be for 7 weeks, and then I will be able to relax a touch. Of course, then I'll be on the phone, so maybe that'll be a different type of consuming.
It really feels like I'm working without a net this time. I don't remember IKEA being quite like this. Then again, it was seven years ago, so maybe it was.
Okay, I'm going to go get dad breakfast, and maybe think about pants. Everyone have an excellent Saturday!
