beansideProbably a relatively short one today because I want to leave a little early so I can pick up lunch from the supermarket. I'm being good and taking coffee rather than stopping at wawa. I think. Maybe. The lure of the wawa is strong. I could get a mashed potato bowl with beef, cheese sauce and old bay and be happy as shit.
Yesterday, first we did a tour of the enntire bigass bulding. I am very sore today from all the walking. It was good to see stuff though. We got our first book, which is very large, and we're supposed to get through the review by Monday afternoon, when we will have our first test. Apparently, it's a pretty easy test, but I'm still stressing.
When we start on protocol, I'm going to need to be able to read small print on flip cards, and I can't currently do that with my shitty eyesight, so I broke down and ordered bifocals this morning. I still need an updated eye exam, but it'll hold me until the new BCBS is active. Zenni Optical still had the frames I'm currently wearing in stock, so I just bought them again. I'm figuring I can trade them out at the beginning. Current glasses for driving, bifocals for class.
We got to go inside the call center, and it is every bit as nice as it looked in the photos. The stations are huge and you can configure them however you want, plus it has a built in heater and fan. This will be important to be in the winter.
The whole center is really lovely. There's like five break rooms, a full industrial kitchen and bunk rooms, just in case the weather is bad and you're stuck there. You've got a locker that's more like a broom closet.
They got our badges up and running, so we can run rampant through the building. So far, aisde from the tour, I hit the women's bunk room, the bathrooms and the break room. The break room has an awesome balcony, which is where I ate lunch.
All in all, going well.
We had an excellent dinner from the Local in Fallston. It was very good and I enjoyed it a great deal. I still have some short rib left over.
And on that note, I'm off to pickup some food for the day. Everyone have an excelleent Wednesday!
