Today's subject line provides...Leverage. I happen to have this song on my playlist and it always makes me smile, thinking of this episode. I had trouble getting into the new episodes, but the old ones hold a special place in my heart, regardless if members of the cast turned out to be assholes.
I went to the doctor like a good person yesterday. First my shrink, then the doctor for my back. The first appointment went fine. I got my pills prescribed, it's all good. I do have to make the decision of whether I want to stay at the current practice or move with my current doctor. On one hand, it would be nice to not have to break in a new doctor. On the other, it's a little further away. I don't know, I'll think on it.
Then, I went to the other doctor. That was a clusterfuck from the beginning. I got there nice and early, just like they tell you to, and was shown back to a room about ten minutes after my appointment time. Then, I waited. And waited. And waited some more. Forty five minutes after my appointment was scheduled, the doctor comes in. And proceeds to do...nothing. He listened to my problem, and informed me that I needed physical therapy. After this, he has me stand up and bend forward, backwards and side to side. That was the extent of his exam. He again tells me he wants me to do 6 weeks of physical therapy and also to get an xray of my back. The appointment takes maybe 7 minutes, and he never lays a hand on me.
I can't afford $240 of PT copays per month, so that's out. And an xray isn't going to show dick, since my pain isn't in the bone and an xray doesn't show soft tissue. So I wasted a good 90 minutes of my life to get no help. Not even an anti inflammatory med.
I have an appointment with my primary care this afternoon (virtual) so I'll see if she's able to do anything, or has any suggestions that don't involve dropping $240 a month for PT.
Today, it's back to work, whoo. On the plus side, it's Tuesday, so I'll actually have a few people there to chat with, which should make the day slightly faster.
Happy International Cat Day! I hope all the kitties have a wonderful day!
Okay, time for me to put on pants and get myself together. Everyone have an amazing Tuesday!
