beansideAnd another week begins. Continuing to do everyones jobs for the whole week. Today shouldn't be horrible, since the markets rarely come in early on a Monday, so I should mostly be doing the delivery update and maybe some pending returns, we'll see how busy the updates are.
Yesterday, the updates were nothing. We had under 100 for the whole day, which is seriously unusual. I ended up doing a total of five people's jobs, doing three people's markets (including my own) as well as updates, training someone on pending, and thereby doing some of pending as well. Which I suppose is sort of six jobs. But who's counting. At this point, a promotion would probably be less work, honestly.
But all that was okay, because after work, it was Monster of the Week time. I was running the second half of a faerie christening. All they had to do was see the princess presented to the court, and they were golden. Of course, shit happened along the way. The baby's gown was stolen by striking brownies! They wanted $70,000 to open their Etsy storefront. Fortunately, one of the party is rich as fuck, and was able to set them up a nice business checking account.
Then, at the christening, the evil member of the Council of the Wise cursed the baby with pain whenever she shape shifted. (The princess is half Barghest.) They found the evil faerie drinking her sorrows away at a nearby pub, and found that she was the black sheep of the council, the last one chosen. And she wasn't given the traditional unicorn mount. So, it was off to find a unicorn to be her mount. They found a stoner unicorn, who directed them to the lone black unicorn, who is an edgelord. He also happens to be a straight edge, which could have caused problems with our lush of a faerie.
A little compulsion spell later, they had agreed to be each other's friend, and oops. Turned out the edgelord unicorn was the promised mount for the puppy princess! Off to find another friend. This one is a bit of a mean girl, but I would like it noted, I did not go full Schlbethany from Steeplechase. I was good. Some sweet talk, and a clutch jewelry making skill check later, they had their unicorn.
They presented the unicorn and the christening ended, with the queens giving favorable proclamations. One, Faerie will accept all those with fey blood, even half and quarter elves. (this was a past issue that could definitely have cropped up again.) The second was that the Winter Court would release all their human prisoners to either become paid servants or to go free into the human world. Then, they swore fealty to the princess, and Faerie promised fealty to them.
I always have so much fun with MotW. It's chaotic in the best way.
Next up is Blades in the Dark on Wednesday, so I've gotta start prepping for that. I have the heist, but I need to get it typed out.
