I really, really need to not sleep in past 8 on my days off. It just thoroughly fucks me up. I spent most of the morning/early afternoon grumpy and pissy.
Didn't help that Dad was in fine form of being a pain in the ass. It was just bad. He was fine, just was constantly squirming and knocking shit over, or calling for every single blessed thing that crossed his mind. While we were playing D&D, he called my sister and informed her that he was having trouble breathing. She got a little bit freaked out (as did I, since I could hear all of this. I paused D&D, while she asked further questions. He meant that the way he'd slid down in the bed, it was uncomfortable. So we laid him back and he scooted up and felt better. Just to be safe, she checked his pulse ox, which was a good number.
I felt bad about the interruptions to our game. Despite that, it turned out to be a lot of fun. The crew went to Skullport, a pirate city. They met some friendly NPCs, beat down some bandits that wanted to rob them, and then entered the citadel to meat with Sundeth, the ruler. He was very amenable to a performance by our bard and thief (who is an opera singer). The one rule was that they were not to spill blood in the citadel. Then, our Oath of Vengeance paladin saw his twin sister on the edge of the crowd, walking away. Being that she is the object of his oath, he followed, and had the most incesty role play I've ever done. Then, as she embraced him, he stabbed her in the back. They had a nice fight for a while before the guard came and pulled them apart. She was there on a specific invite as a Pirate King, so they're hella pissed at the party. We ended there on the cliffhanger of what's going to happen to them.
After we were finished, I looked at Jess and said "I know Spanish food, but what if Honey Pig?" They agreed, because Korean BBQ, and off we went. The new Soul drives so nicely. And so quiet! I can still hear my music even at highway speeds. As we were driving, it abruptly occurred to me that part of my mood could be because yet again, I forgot to eat anything more than 3 golden oreo cookies. Go team me.
The food was amazing. We ordered a kimchi pancake and bulgogi and got a lot of both. Plus of course, the little dishes of sides they give you, of which we ate every one, as well as the rice with golden sauce. In the end, the bulgogi defeated us by a little bit, and we had a carryout container. Afterwards, I was sad that our outing was going to come to an end, so Jess suggested while we were on that side of town, we hit the H-Mart, which is a huge Asian market. I agreed happily, and we blew $75 on stuff that we didn't really need, but that is just so fucking good. Highlights include a pink pineapple and a big box of fresh made kimchi. I'm looking forward to cutting up the pineapple this afternoon. Weirdly, the Asian market had a fair amount of Mexican food, so I picked up some sweet bread and horchata in a can to try. Also a canned Thai tea. Which sounded really good to me.
Despite how rough the morning and afternoon was, I still had an awesome day. D&D was really fun, and I'm full of ideas on how I'm going to deal with our little lawbreakers. Dinner was amazing and we were both so stuffed at the end of it.
Okay, time to start considering getting myself together for work. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
