beansideRunning late today thanks to Dad and an early con.txt TTRPG game.
This weekend is Con.Txt, and I'm looking forward to it. It technically started last night with some getting to know you panels plus a couple TTRPGs, one of which I ran, but the lead up to that was a giant clusterfuck.
On Thursday, the PA told my sister that they wanted to watch dad for a couple more days, just to be sure. So, of course, at 10:30am on Friday they called to let us know that they were discharging him. At 12. We pointed out that we needed transport, and they agreed that they'd take care of that, and Jess and I sprung into action, changing the sheets on his bed and getting things ready. Around 12, I looked in his portal, and noticed that his pulse rate was up again, so I called the hospital. They informed me that transport was there, and they were getting him ready, but the Physician's Assistant would call me. Spoiler, they did not. Instead, a fucking wheelchair van showed up at 1PM.
Problem with a wheelchair van...he can't fucking stand up, so we weren't sure how we getting him from the chair to the bed. The driver was like "Yeah, they do this all the time, I'll call for assistance." That took another 30 min to arrive, so in the meantime, he's just sitting in the van, cussing his little head off. Finally, the team arrives, and with the help of the Hoyer, we get him in bed. It was interesting to see how they used the lift. I think i will have a better idea next time we use it.
We finally got him settled in, and Jess went and got his meds. We both were like "Do we check his vitals, or does that not matter?" I mean, obviously, they sent him home with a heart rate of 120, so they don't think it's a big thing?
I'm just grateful that they sent him home early so it didn't fuck up my game, which sounds horribly selfish, but there's not many things I look forward to like I do my TTRPGs. They're basically my social life and my one outlet. Though now I also have the CONfab stuff, so that's something new.
Aside from that, I did absolutely nothing yesterday. I was a total slug. Okay, time for me to go forth and get myself together for our Leverage panel at 11. Everyone have a wonderful Saturday!
