I am hoping today is a better day than yesterday, because yesterday sucked.
Dad spent the majority of yesterday complaining about being in pain. I totally understand that, but his way of expressing said pain is to lay there and moan/groan and mutter "Oh god, oh boy." Nonstop for 8 hours. His TV isn't coming til today, but he didn't want to do anything that would take his mind off it. It was just horrible. Jess spent half the day in tears and I wanted to claw my skin off. It was just horrible. He also seemed mildly confused, which had Jess and I worried that there was something going on. Of course, when my sister came home, he perked up and was just fine. Maybe he's just bored, I don't know. All I know is that by the end of the day we were both fried.
Hopefully, he was just sore from the trip home and today he'll be a bit better. Or we'll be able to handle it better. One of the two. He also wouldn't get out of bed, but hopefully that'll change.
In less shitty news, I finished a book on my Kindle, so that's the first time in months that I've read anything that wasn't a re-read. It went pretty well. I'm not going to to rec the book owing to numerous uses of the G-slur. It seemed to think that having the lead character point out that it's a slur for the Romani was good enough to continue using it for the first third of the book. It's a shame, because the book had an interesting premise, and the execution was pretty solid. Now I'm on the prowl for more things to read that I might enjoy. I'm thinking maybe Legends and Lattes next. My sister wants me to read Daughter of the Deep, so that's possible, too.
Okay, time to go forth and do some shit and get ready for work. Everyone have a terrific Tuesday!
