beansideBack to Sunday again. I'm sitting here chugging coffee and trying to wake up. I had a little issue getting to sleep last night, so I probably won't be at my finest for work, but oh well. Less than my finest is still pretty good.
We had an excellent weekend, full up with fun games, so even though it seemed to go very fast, I'm a happy kitty.
Yesterday, we started off the day with the opening game of Waterdeep: The Dungeon of the Mad Mage. Due to housekeeping and laying the groundwork for the module, we didn't get very far into it, but I do love playing Jarlazle. One of my favorite NPCs to run. (Probably him and Strahd, though I have a feeling that Absolution from Frostmaiden will become a fave, too. Catholic trauma for the win.). Mad Mage is a fairly enormous module, and it's definitely going to require some work to keep track of everything.
Then, an hour later, (during which it stormed mightily) it was time for our longest running game, the OG MotW. This was the second half of a game, in which our hunters searched for a way to close the Seal and get rid of War, having already dispatched Famine and Pestilence. Death turned out to be a teenager who wasn't into doing the job, so they decided to leave her be, figuring it wouldn't be much of an apocalypse with a single Rider.
Hijinks and bad decisions happened, and the portal was sort of sealed? A political assassination too place, and one player had slid a little further down the road to self destruction. However, at the Goblin Market, they did find a sword and shield capable of withstanding Abbaddon in the coming war.
There are more artifacts to find before then, though. And, they have to find a present worthy of Faerie royalty's christening.
Now I need to shift gears in the event that everyone is able to play Frostmaiden on Wednesday!
