beansideOkay, it's Tuesday. Three days til departure! Just have to get through today and tomorrow, and I'm free from work. Today is a half day, as I took off for Dad's care meeting. It seems like it's more a formality, since they called yesterday to confirm a Thursday discharge. Which is not ideal, but I suppose we will deal.
I also have a virtual appointment with Plushcare, since I've had increased asthma symptoms since Covid. I'm assuming it'll be a nice steroid pack, or possibly Singulair to reduce the inflammation. I'm not at all surprised, since this is what happened last time I had Covid as well, but I didn't call a doctor then. I have grown as a person. And there's more virtual appointment options now.
I went to see Dad last night, and he continued to be singularly unpleasant. We relitigated why he's in rehab, and how the food is bad and too spicy. (ie, has seasoning). He told me he sat up in bed on his own, which was an accomplishment, but not one that gives me great hope. I managed to stay for an hour, and then gave up and came home. I'm seriously hoping he'll chill a little when we do get him home, or this is going to be a long 9 days for my sister.
I guess my big fear is that we get him home, and it's a bit of a clusterfuck and then I will feel horrible about leaving. He swears that he can do it, so I'm just hoping he's right. We'll have physical and occupational therapy coming in, so hopefully that helps.
The fact is though that this trip is non-refundable, because this isn't going to be covered by the travel insurance, so it's either go, or lose $7k. So, we're going. Period, dot. My fear, the one that keeps me up at night is that my sister hurts herself trying to take care of him, while we're 13 hours away, but she has also assured me that she can do this, so I'm just going to try to believe.
Tomorrow, I shall get together some laundry and send it out so that we'll have clothes for when we come back (when I will most likely send them out again).
Okay, I am going to have some more coffee now. Hopefully, this day is better than expected. Everyone have a wonderful Tuesday!
