beansideSaturday! And it's a busy day. Busy with games that is! I've got the Dragon Heist game with Jess' friends and PT, and then i signed up for a game of Blades in the Dark. I want to run one, so I figured the best way to learn was to play. I signed up for one on startplaying.games. It was $10, so if I hate it, I'm not out much. The GM advertises himself as beginner and LGBTQ friendly, so we'll see.
Had a busy day yesterday, too. Apparently, the dog was a bit of an asshole to his groomer, so that cost me an extra $10 for being difficult. He had a poopy butt, and a bit of diaper rash from it (I feel like the worst dog parent) so he got cranky once his butt was shaved. After that, I went over to see Dad.
He's feeling very discouraged that he can't do the therapy at the level they want him to. I pointed out that the idea is to push himself, so he's a little better every day. I don't think that worked, because right before game, he called my sister asking her to get him out of there. He is making me want to bang my head into the wall. It physically hurts me that he's so unhappy, but at the same time, he was telling me that he was having trouble sitting up on a table unassisted, which is not something we can deal with.
My sister is going to go over this afternoon and lay it all out for him. Hopefully, he'll get on board, and start really trying. He's just gotten so damn crotchety over the last year or so, and I don't think he's doing his best. He seems pissed that we're asking it of him, which is not going to be great for results.
Game last night was a lot of fun. The party has finally hit the endgame dungeon and I'm throwing constant low level stuff at them, waiting for the big shit to hit the fan. Plus, of course, there's the big end battle with the baddie, and whatever I throw at them in the meantime. They have a lot of enemies that I could bring back to wreck some shit. With our vacation, and Jess' surgery, we're not going to be able to play again for a month, so I've got time to devise some fun things.
Jess' surgery is confirmed! The hospital was willing to work with them on the preop testing, so we are go for the 16th.
Okay, time to start getting myself together for the day. More coffee is in order. Everyone have a wonderful Saturday!
