I'm sorry I didn't take today off. I've got Birthday Hangover, or something. I'm just very sleepy and I kind of want to go back to bed rather than work. Thankfully, theres coffee. I still don't want to go to work, but I'll at least be awake for it. More or less.
Had a very nice birthday yesterday. Got myself together and went to the bakery, where we bought cupcakes and a bunch of pastries, which became breakfast. They were very good and throughout the day, I had 1/4 of a Brioche Bomb, which was a brioche bun that was just stuffed with chcolate mousse with chocolate on top. Very good, but SO rich. 1/2 a Cookie Butter Bar, which was amazing. Last, I had 1/2 a fruit tart, which was very tasty. I really like their tart filling. Meringue Cake Studio not cheap, but excellent treats.
After that, we had our Dragon Heist D&D game, which was a lot of fun. It's a smaller group than I'm used to, only 4 players and so it has a completely different vibe, which is kind of cool. After that, we kind of relaxed until dinner arrived from the really good Chinese place. My eggroll and sesame chicken were very tasty and will probably be my breakfast today. We got dad an order of shrimp toast and fried rice and he ate every last bit of the shrimp toast and about 1/3 of the fried rice. The, I had ordered fried dough balls with sugar, and he ate three of them. More than he's eaten in a while that wasn't sugar or fast food.
Then, cupcakes and bedtime.
Today, work, then D&D. It's our continuing saga of the Witchlight characters, now 100% homebrewed.
Fortunately, I enjoy creating the homebrew stuff, so it's good for me. Scratches the itch that writing used to fill. I mean, there is writing involved, so maybe it's just that I've not really found anything I want to be fannish about in a long time. Tonight: Dragons! I have ideas on how this can continue, actually a couple. One is as a "monster of the week" sort of game, one is with an actual plot and big bad. Whether it continues is entirely up to the players. We had branded this as a one shot, and if that's the case, it would be okay, too. I can recycle the plot for another game, easily.
Our new oven came, so I'll probably be trying that out today. The old one was making a horrible burning smell, so it had obviously run it's course. I'm just not sure whether I want to bake the duck breast I got, or just bake some bratwurst and do that. I will think on it. It has to be easy, since I only have an hour between the end of work and beginning of game.
Time for me to get myself together for work. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
