We have completed day one of full time Dad duty, and I need a nap. Both he and the dog were moderately fussy all day. Dad worries whenever any of us leave, and he was fretting about them hitting icy patches on the road. (Because they're going to the wilds of Gettysburg?). It made me feel preemptively bad about the Disney vacation, because he is going to drive my sister up the wall, with us driving nearly 1000 miles. I mean, I feel bad about leaving her to deal with him for 9 days in general, but it's going to be 9 days of fretting, and that will probably suck. We'll definitely text pictures frequently, and we'll text with each new state we enter, just so he knows we're doing okay.
Despite being on duty, it was a fairly busy day. I had my psych appointment, got my pills all refilled which was good. Then, we took the puppy to the groomer. His favorite groomer decided to move down to the new place, so he was very excited to see her. Not that the other groomers weren't awesome, but he gets so excited about going to Ms. P. (I have no idea why we call her Ms, like she's a preschool teacher, but it's stuck. I felt a little bad on account of his poopy butt, and the scab from where his little cyst popped (Which was no longer stuck to the skin, just matted in his fur), but she took care of both. We tipped over 50%, so hopefully that' makes up for dealing with it.
I slept upstairs in my sister's bed, so that I could hear dad if he needed anything. I did not sleep well. I fell asleep okay, but woke up after about three hours and didn't really sleep after that aside from a light doze. With Jess' okay, I may go take a nap at some point.
First though, I have to put on pants and go to the post office to mail off the dress I sold on Ebay. Three years ago, I bought this adorable rainbow sequined cocktail dress for my office party. I wore it that one time, and then COVID hit. During the pandemic, I also started Rybelsus for my diabetes, and lost 50 pounds. Dress now looks kind of like a sack on me. I was going to donate it, but looked on Ebay and found it was actually worth something, so I decided to sell it. I hope the person who won the auction feels as much like a princess as I did in it.
Hopefully, dad won't be quite as fussy today, though with it being dreary and rainy, you never know. Sometimes the rain makes him achy.
Okay, time for more coffee. Everyone have a wonderful Saturday!
