beansideWhat can I say, it's an NSync day for our subject line. I've had this freaking song stuck in my head for a day now, and I would like it to go away now. Then again, I suppose it's better than the one TikTok song that accompanies people showing their cats. I was constantly turning to the dog or cat going "His name is Yoda, precious Yoda." I think the dog was starting to question my sanity. Ha! Jokes on him, I have no sanity.
Work yesterday was boring, but thankfully short. I got my stuff done and spent some time just fucking around until M. asked for help doing updates, then I did some of them for the last 45 minutes. Sounded like the Saturday crew was short staffed, so a lot of shit fell on us as usual. The inbox was up to 86 emails, and the person who was assigned it was out, so it was getting rapidly overgrown. I have it on Wednesday, so I was not feeling particularly kindly towards doing it yesterday. I'll probably help out some on Tuesday, just so it's in good shape for Wednesday when it's my primary responsibility, but otherwise, nope.
One thing I forgot to mention. At the suggestion of8hyenas, we picked up a dry herb vaporizer for Jess' weed. She had suggested that it might be easier on Jess' lungs, so we did some research and found a relatively inexpensive vape pen. After a little bit of confusion as to whether it was working we figured it out. It just heats the weed, cooking it, as opposed to combusting it, so there's not really any smoke, just vapor. So, there's a taste to the weed, but that's the only way you know that it's working. The nice thing is that apparently, they can make their own tincture out of the leftover weed. We just need to get some high proof liquor to soak it in.
For the first time in a long while, I played D&D instead of DMing. I enjoyed it, but it reinforced that I'm a much better DM than player, and I like it more. The game is a series of four one shots, and I'm going to finish them out, but aside from that, I probably will stick to DMing. The one shots are lead ups to Spelljammer which is the new thing coming out this week. It's basically Age of Sail in Space! The games follow cadets on their journey through the Spelljammer Academy. Of course, after rolling super high for stats last week, my rolls were absolute dogshit. My one decent roll was to (badly) flirt with one of the teachers.
I ended up playing a former soldier who got discharged after getting into an unfortunate bar brawl. She joined the church of the god of War and became a cleric, being of a fighty disposition. After hanging around town for a little while after training, she was approached by the Spelljammer Academy, and joined up. Now, she's training to be crew on a Spelljammer ship, where she will hopefully get all the fights her little heart can desire. So far, she's landed the killing blow in a simulated battle (okay, that roll wasn't horrible, either) failed to hit some spidery things, and punched a bully. (The bully is lucky she didn't go for her mace as that's her usual fallback.) Oh, and asked the hot Spelljamming teacher and I quote, "Oi, when you do get off work?" They had previously insulted her, but see also, hot.
I enjoyed the group I played with, and it also served to make me appreciate my own group, which is a slightly different flavor of awesome.
Okay, time to get myself together for a full day of work. Ew. Oh well, everyone have a good Monday!
