beansideIt is way too early to be awake, yet here I am. Oddly, playing D&D last night worked out fine for me. We finished around 9:30, and I was asleep before 10:30, so I can't blame that for my tiredness. It just seems like getting up half an hour earlier than usual is difficult, though thanks to a small kitty, I was awake at 4, as she came hurtling in and jumped on Jess and me, demanding attention. She got it of course.
I am annoyed. I was scheduled to have my interview today at 3, but I got an email at 6:55 saying it's being rescheduled. Annoying by itself, but the thing is, I'm not supposed to access my email after I leave for the day, so I still have to get dressed up nice and go spend the whole day like that.
It was a strange email, I gotta say. It came from our People and Culture dept, which is a part of HR. It said that they would be rescheduling with P&C, but my interview was with an Operations Manager, not P&C, so it was a little odd. It is not filling me with hope for the interview. Nothing I can do about it, so I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.
We had D&D last night, as I said, and that was good. It was a nice mid-week break. We only played for two hours, but we got a lot done.
The party decided to activate the shield guardian they'd found, and immediately adopted it to be their cleric's bodyguard.
That night, they heard a voice in their dreams saying that they had something of his, and he was coming for it.
After that, there was some brief discussion about what to do next, and it was decided to go clone hunting. The party used one of the teleport necklaces and headed to the next lair. They had just barely gotten to the lair when a balor appeared (modeled on the Lords of the Ring's Balrog). The fight was short, but brutal. And when it died, it exploded, dealing an incredible amount of damage.
The party searched the now badly scorched lair, and found another artifact, the Vile Book of Darkness, adding another potential foe to their scorecard. This one will teleport away if it doesn't think you're evil enough so it may take care of itself, who knows?
At least they only have to wait til next week to see what happens next as we're doing another Wednesday game. This weekend, I just have the game with Jess' friends, and then Sunday I have character creation for the Spelljammer game I'm playing in.
Okay, I should probably get my ass together and look presentable. Have a good Thursday everyone!
