We're halfway there! Wednesday has arrived! Two more days of work for me before the weekend! I just have to get through the Code of Conduct training this afternoon. I guess they figure we've all gone feral after two years at home, and they should get us retrained before we start going back into the office on a regular basis.
I'll admit, I've gone a little feral. It'll be weird to be chained to a desk. At home, I get up fairly regularly to stretch my legs, go out and grab coffee, kiss Jess, pet the dog, etc. And Jess stops in my office once in a while to give me a quick neck rub or to pet the cat who likes the window behind my monitors. I mean, part of it is that I don't have the work to keep me busy for 8 hours. It just isn't going to happen. So, in the office, I'll be desperately trying to look busy instead of sitting there checking Twitter and Facebook on my phone. It's going to suck, because assuming all my markets come in, I have maybe an hour and a half of work, if that. If they put me on the project that day, I might have an additional hour or two. That leaves a minimum of four hours that I'll be cooling my heels. Oh well, I've got a month before I have to worry about it.
They still haven't told us which day of the week we'll be coming into the office, which is total bullshit. I mean, it's nice to know the week it starts, but people need to line up permanent childcare, and they can't unless they know what day we're being assigned. For me, it's not that big a deal, but I know my coworkers are flipping out.
I really can't wait for next weekend. Not only do I have D&D after a 5 week layoff while people had real life things to do, on Monday I have the appointment with the ENT. I'm so sick of being dizzy. I'm really hoping I give them the layout of what my symptoms are, and they nod and go "ah yes, I know exactly what you have--here's how we fix it." I don't really think it'll be that easy, but I can dream.
I need to get off my ass, dizzy or not and start training for the Disney trip. I've got 9 months to get in shape, and I'm going to need every single month. I'm not a huge fan of walking unless there's an immediate goal, so it's going to be tough for me to keep up with. But I'm going to be walking a lot that week. We're going to be there six days, with plans to take a break halfway through the week for a day at the resort. The posts I've seen say that you'll be walking up to 24,000 steps per day, which amounts to about 12 miles. That's if you're in the park all day, which we're not going to be, but still. We're planning to take a mid-day break, and go back to our hotel room, or to lunch at a resort for a while during the day. I'm figuring we'll be walking about 7 miles a day, which is not insignificant. We've walked that far before, in DC and Busch Gardens, but that was only for a day or two. We're looking at doing what'll amount to two marathons in a week, and I am not ready. It's really not the most pleasant to be walking the neighborhood while my head is spinning, but I'm going to have to do it.
I continue to really like the candle I bought that smells like our hotel. It really smells lovely. I don't normally like floral scents, but there's enough pineapple and teak wood in it to cut the wild hibiscus. It's currently in our bedroom in front of the fan so our whole room smells nice. I'm pagan enough that I'm going to start burning it soon because I've put enough intent in it that it's a defacto spell candle. I want it to draw a perfect vacation to me.
Okay, it's heading on 7, so it's time for me to wrap things up and start my day. Work shall arrive soon enough. Have a good Wednesday everyone!
