beansideAs usual, on a day that I have to get up, I was all snuggled in and warm and sleepy, and did not want to move when the alarm went off. I did, grudgingly, but I wasn't happy about it.
More work today. Yesterday was light on actual work. I mostly worked in the inbox, helping my coworker J. He's a good guy, and the last few days, it didn't look like much had been done, since it had 81 emails, some from Thursday. J is the other one who normally gets stuck on projects, since we both have a reputation for getting shit done. Frequently, we'll share the document, and I'll start at the bottom, he'll start at the top, and we meet in the middle. When I left, there were three emails, so it better stay low today, or I will be cranky. (I won't do anything about it, but I'll be quietly cranky.)
We pulled the work secret Santa, and of course, of course I picked my manager's name. She's out on maternity leave, but apparently is still participating. Thankfully, she has a wishlist, so that's a bonus, but still. No pressure. I made up my wishlist with mostly practical stuff-gloves, slippers, a mini vacuum for my keyboard. The one frivolous thing I think I put was a leather cuff bracelet. I used to have one, but it was lost in the void.
I have a feeling at the rate MD is going, we're heading into another lockdown. Our positivity rate keeps climbing, and with the holidays and people being idiots, I think it would be prudent. We'll see what our Republican Governor does. I still think we opened a little early, but I would have thought that no matter what.
Went out to get food on Friday, and the restaurant was packed, and social distancing was not really being observed. I came home and immediately washed the hell out of my hands, and then changed clothes. It was just surreal. And so many people with the mask just covering their mouth. Dick mask, as we call it, because it's like covering your balls, but leaving your dick hanging out. I was not a fan, though the food was excellent.
I can't believe it's Thanksgiving in under two weeks! November's flown past (once we got past the election bullshit), and somehow it's already halfway. Go figure.
