beansideDay two of my three day weekend, and I woke up with my back killing me. It's not a new thing, just occasionally my lower back on one side will spasm and hurt like hell. It drove me out of bed at 5:45am, which was not my plan for the morning. Some ibuprofen has helped, but I'm still very sore. Not looking forward to getting dad dressed.
I've been having a couple of rough COVID recovery days. I've been a little breathless and fatigued. It seems to go in cycles--there'll be a couple bad days, then it'll improve. It continues to be bullshit and anxiety producing. I had the damn virus in April. This extended symptom shit is just obnoxious all the way.
Also anxiety producing is the US postal system. I get my medication by mail, and the thought that my inhalers might be delayed is causing a lot of panic attacks. I think I've mentioned that before, but it continues to be a source of stress.
In sunnier news, we finished Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. It was a delight, and had some surprisingly touching moments. I really, really loved Dan Stevens as Alexander Lemtov, who seems to be the stereotypical predatory douche. Without his charisma, the character might have been deeply unlikable. Instead, he was my favorite part of the movie. I know it didn't get the best reviews, but Jess and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Now, we've started watching Umbrella Academy. We're only one episode in, but I really like it. I had tried it before, but I don't think I was in a good headspace to watch something plotty. I've thoroughly spoiled myself for season one, but I'll go into the second season mostly spoiler free. (That's probably a lie. I'll most likely spoiler myself again--I'm weird in that I like spoilers.)
Watching will probably go slowly, because we don't have that much time to watch without interruption. It's pretty much only on my days off, and even then, there's always the chance that Dad will want to be talky.
