It seems like a whole lot of people needed a pick-me-up today, so here goes! A bit of pure schmoop to hopefully brighten some people's day.

Title: Just Another Soul For Sale
Authors: [livejournal.com profile] beanside and [livejournal.com profile] nilchance
Universe: OT3 Yes, really.
Disclaimer: Never happened. Never will, more's the pity.

It had been a shitty day, Jeff thought. From start to finish. The morning had started shitty, what with dropping Jensen off at his place. God, that shouldn't have hurt so much. He'd known all along that he cared for Jen. But the way his stomach twisted as his boy walked away... it was like losing a part of himself.

Then, he'd had another round of costuming for his next movie, which wasn't horrible. Just really fricking boring. After years of low budget movies and television, it was a little bit of a shock to the system to get called back four damn times, looking for just the right pair of jeans, or shirt.

He wasn't complaining. After the success of "P.S. I Love You" and "The Accidental Husband," the roles had started coming in fast and furious. With "The Watchmen" coming out soon, and already generating buzz, it was only going to get better. With all the years of living on ramen and peanut butter, he was damn sure going to enjoy being able to pick and choose roles. But it was still astounding to him how much money big budget movies wasted on bullshit stuff. Later, he'd had his meeting with Shonda about the long-delayed series. It wasn't a shock to hear that they weren't picking up his contract, and that the show was DOA, but it still sucked. He'd really liked the bit Shonda had told him about her plans. She, of all people, could have pulled it off, and it would have been nice to have a steady job. He wasn't worried about getting work right now, but things changed. Steady, decent paying work would have been pretty cool.

On the other hand, he had a callback day after tomorrow. So, at least he'd been shortlisted for something. It was very hush-hush, and that usually meant big budget. Not that he'd get much of said budget, but it would keep Bisou in dog food for a while.

And, of course, it was pouring, which meant his normal hour drive took two and a half. Jesus. He just wanted to go home, hug Jared and pull the pillows over his head.

The rain seemed to pick up the moment he pulled into the Chinese take out place, picking up the order Jared had phoned in. Judging from the amount of food, Jared was either really hungry, or stress-eating. Joy.

Of course, the moment he turned onto their street, the fucking downpour stopped. The gate opened with a soft whir, and he pulled in, watching for the dogs, just in case.

By the time he pulled into the garage, the door to the house was open, Jared silhouetted in the dim light from the living room. Just seeing him, Jeff felt something in his chest loosen. Jared was his touchstone, his heart. Just his smile could make the day. Though, Jeff had to wonder what had set off that smile. He'd been pissed as all fuck this morning, moping and hiding in bed until he and Jensen had left.

"Hey, baby," Jeff murmured, sliding out of the SUV. "How's it going?"

"Okay. I take it the meeting with Shonda-"

"Show's dead. After the spin off of Grey's tanked, they're taking a wait and see, but Shonda said she'd be shocked if they picked it up in the next two years."

"Damn. I'm sorry." Jared leaned in, kissing his cheek. "I've got something that'll simultaneously cheer you up, and piss you the fuck off."

"Can I get in the house first?"

"Nope. Look in the back of my car."

At first glance, it looked like Jared had emptied a dumpster into his car. Wet, torn cardboard, piles of crap. Then, his eyes narrowed on a small, hand-painted piece of wood, with childish lettering. "To the best Dad in the World, Love Jensen."

"They sent it back," Jeff breathed. It hit him like a punch to the stomach. "Wait, he's here? He-"

"He came back," Jared confirmed. "Of course, he was soaked and shaky, so I stuffed him in the tub. He's on the sofa now. Sleeping."

Exhaling, Jeff nodded and closed his eyes. He needed to calm the hell down before he went inside and woke Jensen. He couldn't let this kind of ugliness fuck with his boys more than it already had. "You okay?" he asked Jared, reaching out a blind hand to touch Jared's arm.

Jared caught his hand and clasped it. "I'm fine, baby. You need a minute?"

"Yeah." Jeff counted in his head, forcing the anger down. Jensen was home. They were his family. Nothing else mattered. And a quick call to Kane would probably mean they could get someone to throw flaming dog shit on Jensen's family's front step. "Yeah. Okay."

When he opened his eyes again, Jared was right in his space. Jared smiled at him, leaning down to nuzzle Jeff. "He's been waiting for you to get home."

And if that didn't make the whole day look better, he didn't know what would.

"He's worried,"Jared said softly. "He's afraid you're pissed."

"At him? For leaving?"

"After the tantrum I threw..."

Jeff pulled Jared close, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "C'mon, baby. Let's go see our boy."

Jensen was curled up on the wide couch, head poking out from under a blanket. He must have heard them talking, because he was awake. Wary green eyes watched Jeff's approach.

"Hey, Jen," Jeff murmured. "Sounds like you had a shitty day."

Jensen nodded slightly.

"You know what's the best cure for that?"

"What?"

"Crappy movies, good Chinese food, and cuddling."

Jensen perked up a little, face softening in relief. "You're not pissed?"

"Of course not, sweetheart," Jeff purred. "Welcome home, Jen."

Jensen hesitated, then reached out a hand from under the blanket and pawed at Jeff. Letting himself be pulled, Jeff eased under the blanket. There was an awkward moment of too many limbs in one space, but Jeff solved it neatly by pulling Jensen onto his lap. Jensen melted against him, fever-warm from the bath and wrapped in one of Jared's shirts. Sliding his arms around Jensen to steady him, Jeff kissed his chin, his nose, his cheekbone, until Jensen laughed and tried to squirm away.

"Nope," Jeff said firmly, "you're ours now. Can't get away. Sorry."

"I guess I can deal with it." The corners of Jensen's eyes crinkled up as he gave Jeff the real smile, the one the cameras didn't see. Then he shifted in Jeff's lap, deliberately. "Bad day?"

"Much better now." Sliding his hands down Jensen, Jeff let his hand rest at the waistband of his pants. "I'm glad you came back to us."

Jensen shrugged. "I just hoped you still wanted me."

"Always, Jen. You belong here." Jeff settled onto the couch, pulling Jensen against his side, letting him rest his head on Jeff's shoulder. "Better?"

"Yeah."

Jeff rumpled his hair. "Do you want to talk about it?"

Jensen stilled for a moment, then sighed softly. "Don't know," he finally said, voice thick.

"Fair enough. If you do, you know we're here." Jeff snuggled against him, nuzzling his still damp hair. "This isn't just about great sex, you know. You're our friend. We love you."

"You shouldn't," Jensen muttered.

Jared made the save as usual, smacking Jensen on the back of the head. "Don't even, dumbass. We love you. Don't overthink it. You're my best friend, and my family. Got it?"

Jensen flinched a little at the word family. After a moment, he looked up at Jeff from under his lashes, a smile touching his lips. "Yeah?"

Feeling like his grin would split his face, Jeff pulled Jensen closer to kiss his head. "Oh yeah."

I had to revisit the past fic for this 'verse when I came across the update and fell in love all over again with broken!Jensen, puppy!Jared, and protective!Jeff. Something about when they get together, their hotness isn't tripled or even cubed, it's beyond that. However, I love the quiet together moments even more than the sex. Something totally uncoiled in my belly when I read this

Aww that was just so sweet. I am glad Jeff was happy that Jensen came back that he called kane to do something. I really can't believe Jensen's family, it is just so sad. Their loss, Jared and Jeff's gain. Will there be more in this verse because it is really fanastic.

How is it that I just discovered this verse today? It is wonderful!

While the contents of that box just infuriated me (though it unfortunately can be a realistic response coming from unbending religious conservatives) and made my heart break for Jensen, it also underscored where he needs to be.

I hope you'll update this verse. I'm dying to know what happens when the boys return to Vancouver.

I stumbled onto a REC for one of your fics this morning and them proceded, with mush panting, lack of blinking and AWE, to read through you entire cwrps memories list.

You are.....shit I need to learn more languages becuase their aint no word in english to encompas your amazing ability to make a story hot, sexy, gritty, real, emotional, powerful and downright memorable.

So, since I think ive fallin in love with your (your writing at least :0) How do you feel about me building a shirne for you? Cause I think id be willing to kneel down and worship every time you write something!

Honest you are one of the best writers ive read in a while, and when that is paired with a subject matter/pairing that I love, there really is no words.

So sweet. *sighs happily* I never really saw those three together but after reading (or better: at first *hearing*) your story "Breaking to you" I totally fell in love with it. And the way you write is just totally addictive. *hugs* Looking forward to anything you're going to write in this universe.

I've had this open for reading for so long and today I got to read the whole 'verse and OMG I'm IN LOVE! With your broken and achy Jensen and your vulnerable and strong Jared and your unmovable and unbreakable Jeff and the adorable half-human dogs. With the heart-wrenching plot and the fantastic writing and the absolutely scorchingly HOT sex. This is one of the best RPS 'verses I've ever read and, while I'm always wary of putting pressure on writers when I'm not entitled to do anything but be extremely grateful for getting to read awesome works like this one, I really, really, really hope you feel inspired to write in this 'verse again. It's absolutely amazing!

Wow. I really like this.
So sweet.
The three of them really care about each other.
I wish you would make some more.

I wish there would be more of this! I just want it to go on and on. Which is weird for me, because threesomes don't usually work for me, but with these characterizations and interlocking angsty issues? I could eat it up with a spoon. More? Please?

I don't know how this happened. I read a long time ago the three first parts of that verse and really really liked them. Maybe my favorite Jeff/Jensen/Jared fic, and I realized today that there is more !! Ah ah *is very happy* ;o)
But it there something after "just another soul for sale" ? or is it the end of the verse ???
thanks for letting me know.

I know I know you've been asked this question many times (me being the last one on the list) but do you think you'll write more of this verse. I love these 3 and I read everything I can when it comes to them, but this verse, YOUR VERSE is the best one. This fragile!jensen and protective!jeff and Jared are the best.

I seem to have just found my way over to this corner of fandom. First, thank you. Parts of this hit dangerously close to home for me... so thank you. Second, you are fantastic authors, and I'm disappointed only that I hadn't made my way this way sooner. I look forward to seeing what gets created next.

Beautiful and so sweet. I detest Jensen's parents. Can't believe they would disown him. Argh. Still, he has a new family now!

I love this verse so much, I can't stop smiling like a dweeb. Great work!
