Well, this is considerably earlier than I thought I'd be writing my morning ramble, but alas the kitty was not going to let me sleep. She was demanding her breakfast pretty hardcore so I finally got up. She did immediately eat her can of food, so I felt a little better about that. It's a good thing I slept til 8:30 on Thanksgiving, since my weekend sleep in was a no-go.
I probably wouldn't have been in bed much longer anyway, as I was having a tummy ache and was probably going to get up to tend to that soon. Hopefully it settles down quickly. I'm still a little nauseous and bloaty right now.
We have two games today, one at 2 and one at 6, so I'm hoping to perk up by then. The 2pm one, I'm just playing in, but it's a murder mystery, so I need to have a brain cell active. The 6pm I'm running. It's the second half of a Halloween one shot that got bumped around.
Work was actually good. I made giving me the sheet with the patients were need to get in STAT worth while, getting five patients scheduled and off it. There's about 25 people on the sheet, so I cleared out about 20%. Not a bad average.
In between calls and trying to r/s people, I finally finished reading T. Kingfisher's "A Sorceress Comes to Call." As usual, the non-horror book was seriously horrifying. I won't spoil it, but I will say that like most of her books, the protagonist are sensible people caught in impossible situtations. I will also mention that this one comes with a few trigger warnings: Child abuse, gaslighting, loss of agency, animal harm (sort of). I have yet to figure out how the author makes a book that is both a cozy fairy tale retelling, yet has moments that actually made me physically recoil while muttering "gah."
If you've read any of her books before (and I highly recommend them), you already know if you're going to like this one. If not, give it a try. Or try one of her other stellar books Nettle and Bone or Bryony and Roses.
Okay, I'm going to sign off here and decide whether I could go back to bed, or if I'm up for the duration. Everyone have an amazing Sunday!
