It's a dreary, rainy morning in Maryland. I'm sitting here sipping my coffee to the sound of the droplets hitting the pavement outside the window. Today is a busy day. We've got three games today, which is a lot. Pretty much all the games we can stuff in one day. Fortunately, I only am GMing one, so I think I'll make it. I'm definitely going to sleep well tonight though!
Yesterday we didn't do a whole lot. Went to see Dad, who had stood in the sit/stand frame for 10 minutes the day before. He's a little proud of himself, and well he should be! It's awesome. We stayed to visit for a little while, and then headed home to relax until it was time for Honey Heist.
This of course, meant more vacation planning. I did some more Chicago planning. I thought about buying three seats and doing Southwest, just to be safe, since I'm kind of on the round side. But that's $804 for the cheapest fair, and I would probably spring for the priority boarding, which is another $50 per person, per way, and you get a soda and a bag of peanuts. Or, I can pay $1104 to fly first class, and get more shit included, plus nicer seats. It's more than I want to spend, but were we to drive, it would take approximately 11 hours. While I can drive that long, I'm not sure I want to, but we will think about it. It would cost us less by about $400, and then we could bring cheap snacks to have in the hotel room. Hmm. I did confirm with
poisontaster that we were definitely on for high tea at the Drake hotel one afternoon.
I did some quality waffling on what tour we wanted to take for Alaska. There's two basic types of sailing. A roundtrip, or a one way. I was looking at one of the one ways that took you all the way up to Denali and on a wildlife tour, but then I found out that it requires a 10 hour train ride, in addition to the 5 hour bus ride into the park. It looks gorgeous, and I'd love to see a moose, but I don't think I could do the 11 hour train ride. I'm pushing it with 8 hours of flying already. So that got ruled out, and we're back to a 7 day round trip to Vancouver. I wish there was a direct flight to Vancouver from Baltimore, but we're going to have to have a stop in Seattle.
Okay, time for more coffee and to do some prep for the game that I'm GMing at 12. Everyone have a lovely Sunday!
