It's Thursday and I am free for a 3 day weekend. As of last night, Jess was still pretty sore post surgery, so I decided that I'd call out rather than leave them on their own all day. I'm sure they'd be fine, but I'd rather be here to let the dog out and what not. It's not a chore to skip going into the office either.
Groceries are ordered! The reimbursement came in, so I put in a grocery order with Aldi, which will arrive around lunchtime. Now i have to decide what to have for dinner tonight. I'm leaning towards the good steaks I got. I kind of wish I had charcoal, I could cook them on the grill. But alas, the pan will have to suffice.
After three weeks of minimal games between vacation and Jess' surgery, we have a three game weekend starting tomorrow. Frostmaiden on Friday, Dragon Heist on Saturday, and whatever I'm going to make of the Lost Mine on Sunday. I have an inkling of what I'm going to do, so we'll see how that goes. I'm probably going to run it a little like my Monster of the Week game, which means I'll prep a few scenes and see where they go from there. I've not tried to do that with a larger grouop, which Lost Mine is, so we'll see how it goes.
On Saturday, I may try to go to the new doughnut place that just opened up near us before our game. Diablo Doughnuts opened yesterday, and their menu looks amazing. I'm sure it's going to be bug fuck on Saturday, but if I go early, it might not be too long of a wait. The other option is that I get up super early tomorrow and am there when they open. Since I'm stuck using my sister's car until mine gets fixed, my times to go are limited. Next Thursday is going to suck, since I will probably have to take my sister to work, then take. Jess to the doctor, then pick her up from work. It'll be a busy Thursday, but we will deal.
Tomorrow at some point, I'm supposed to go to the rehab for a meeting with his social worker and therapists. I'm a little worried about that, since the last one they only did that when it was time for him to come home, but hopefully it's not that. Yesterday apparently, he had a rough therapy and slipped and pretty much fell into bed, banging his knee and nearly taking the therapist out. So that doesn't sound like he's ready to come home. Unless they're kicking him out for being an asshole. That I would totally understand. He called me yesterday because they hadn't brought his breakfast by 8:45 am. Wanted me to call the front desk and ask if they were trying to starve him. Needless to say, I did not.
When he does get home, I think we need to start implementing some boundaries on how he acts. Watching him do the same shit he does with us to the staff has really made me see how much of an asshole he's become. And that is going to have to stop, because none of us need that shit. I don't know how well that'll work, but I'm definitely going to try. Because as I've said, I have not liked my father for a long time.
Okay, time to have some more coffee and maybe put on some pants. Everyone have a wonderful Thursday!
