This year has been very annoying so far, and now I have a sore throat. Is it Covid? Is it allergies? Who the fuck knows. I'm still testing negative, for what it's worth. I'll keep testing and see what happens. We'll have to wait and see.
Dad was moved to the rehab around 1. Of course at 2, we got a lab from the hospital that might indicate that his heart is not pumping quite as well as they'd like. They want him to get an echocardiogram to see what's going on. Not sure why they didn't schedule that while he was in the hospital, honestly. I went over last night and took his clothes and shoes and cpap machine over, so he should be good.
Jess is still sick, though maybe not coughing as much today. Hopefully, this means they're on the upswing, and will perk up quickly from here on out. They still have a bit of a hoarse voice, but they say that it no longer hurts to talk, so we'll take it.
My sister still has a little lingering cough, but seems pretty fine otherwise.
So now, I guess we wait to see if I can no sell Covid. After the first bout in 2020, it owes me a break. But we'll see. I'm waffling on whether I should go see dad today. I will probably try to call him and tell him that I may be getting sick. My sister is planning to go tonight, so I don't feel so bad.
The rehab unit seems okay. The people are nice from what I've seen. But holy shit the parking lot is a nightmare. There's almost no parking, and the lot is down a steep hill. We're going to have to bus my sister in--with her hip and knee there's no way she can handle that. As was, with hauling his heavy-ass suitcase, by the time I got to the top (rushing because there's no sidewalk and I didn't want to get creamed by an incoming car) I was out of breath, and needed a second before I could strap a mask on to go inside.
Last night we had an excellent MotW game.
poisontaster's game is a lot of fun, and very unpredictable. I love playing my character, Kitty, who is a refugee from an apocalypse cult with a connection to Cthulhu, who she calls "father." Not wanting to be sacrificed to Father, she bugged out and has found herself transporting a dragon egg cross country. Kitty's past and powers have made her paranoid and violent, and she can usually be counted on to do the totally stupid thing.
This time it was driving a stick shift car at full speed (without checking the brakes). The egg was stolen, and we needed to get it back, and Kitty figured anyone else would be too slow. She promptly got shot, and then got pissed and unleashed her powers to just decimate the opposition.
Then, at the end of the game, PT threw us a hard curve, and I'm curious to see which way it goes next. Good thing I only have to wait a week to find out!
Today, I believe I will just take it easy and relax. Maybe tomorrow too. We shall see what it brings. Everyone have a terrific Thursday!
